I got quite a few weapons that are pre-patch. Wondering what people are charging for scatters and FWGs mainly.

Howdy;

Your question shows why I always sell my weapons on Hit Points Per Second Squared. You get what was worked for and they get what they are willing to pay for. Watch the FWG below.

2.3 rof, 44-144 16% wnd, 17/43/24 = cost of $3.9K.. After patch cost - $3.9K... Now if I can't make one as hot, it would cost less <shrug>. Maybe you won't get rich using this method, but all who are using my weapons like it better than the Flat Rate madness that got me into weapon smith to begin with.

I admit to a problem with Expendables, such as a lot of the commando stuff. Resource heavy and the HPPSS method makes them worth $100K or more, heh. Then it is needed to fall back on the Min and Max Price Cap. You decide WHAT is the lowest price you will accept for your minerals. Take a Scout for example. Maximum resources to make one would be 162 total. You require at Least 5 cpu to make it worth your while. Answer is you could Never sell a scout for less than $810. This same method can give the max. Never Sell one for more than $8100.. My method - may not be yours..

Anyway, I rambled off..The answer is sell them for the same as you were going to.

My particular method:

Use nothing but the highest quality resources.... Charge everything at 50cpu, only make fully advanced weapons.

Fairly simple, still need a spreadsheet to keep all the prices straight though

No flames please, but I am get 50k per pre patch fwg5. 50-191 1.7 unsliced.

I sell about 3 a week and I really don't care, as they become more and more rare mine will become more and more wanted. It's all supply and demand.

The supply is limited, as you guys sell out at 8k for a pre-patch, when ur inventory is gone it's gone, therefore the price will continue to go up baring any changes to the game. It's a gamble I'm willing to take.

To actually answer the post question.....

Don't sell those fwg5's yet, stick the crates in your safe deposit box then forget about them just a little while. Wait till all the krayt fwg5's go away, and then all the other pre-patch stockpiles go away, then sell. If your trying ot maximize profit.

Here is the real answer to how to price weapons. And this always works unless you just so happen to be the first master weaponsmith on your server. (unlikely).

At any rate find out what every one else charges for they're various weapons, get the stats. Then compare to yours.

Your going to have 1 of 3 possibilities.

1. On the average the weapons you make are worse

2. on average they are better

3. they are in-line with most

If #1, then you simply have to charge less than others, how much less depends entirely on how fast your wanting to move the stock.

If #2 then depending on just how much better, the field on how much you charge above average is a bit higher. Generally speaking sell for less than the those who make the "better" weapons.

If #3, then simply charge what most others charge for comparable weapons.

There is another possibility that you make the best weapons on the server. In that case charge whatever you want. Even if it's just 5 points higher in dmg than EVERYONE else, and though may not sell them fast, you will sell them. There are a number of individuals that would gladly pay exhorbent robber baron prices for that whole whopping 5 points. There is an upper limit though, so don't get too greedy

*Realities*

Most players don't read the forums enough to know who the best and most reliable weaponsmiths are. All they have to depend on is hte planet map, and beyond that either word of mouth, or just by running smack into it. I feel most players probably just run smack into it. To those that do, they will pay whatever you want them too that doesn't inflict too much punishment in terms of running missions... Location can make a big difference in what you can charge and how much you sell. Always keep in mind the types of people that will buy the weapons you make, and what combat level they are, and imagine what they may have to go thru in order to earn enough credits to buy your gun, then ask yourself if you would buy it.

Most importantly know your competition well. The higher end shoppers don't mind jumping a few planets to find a new good solid weaponsmith that might save them some credits in the long run. So knowing what your competition is all about goes a long way in this aspect.

I too am babysitting several crates of pre-patch FWG5s - but there is something that may mitigate babysitting n them for too long - it's called the republic blaster.

No cert required, damage profile better than pre-patch base FWG5s (light AP) though it is slower. However you'd be surprised right now how few people seem to be aware of the republic blaster's existence or the fact it worksnow. I had a question about my FWG5s and I mentioned to him republic blasters are a nice alternative as well - he bought 3 of each. He loves the republic.

I am sure they will change the republic blaster yet again though.

So we can either try move in now while the republic blaster is not widely known, or wait even longer til the republic gets addressed.

My Pre-patch FWG's, Scatters and Launchers are ALL better than what I can currently make so I need to either decide to price them out now or put them in storage for later.

50k, and I dont feel guilty for it. I pulled my 50k pre-patch scatters to babysit for a while when someone tried to buy everyone i had at 50k . I got tired of seeing someone walk right out of my store and auction them on the forums for 150k. I can post on the forums as easy as the next guy and hey, i did all the legwork on making the gun

republic blasters have nothing and will never have anything to do with rebels, what does the gun of the royal security force of naboo have to do with being a rebel?

oh and i sell the prenerf fwg5s for six digit figures

§1 Dont be afraid to much of rep blasters they are bugged (in good way) and SOE will soon fix them ( all good bugs get fixed before bad ones) they will ask for a cert and/or be avalible to rebs only.

§2 You cant realy compare them. Rep Blaster right now are a treath to Scout and not FGW. (different damage type) But as i said before once devs add cert back to them it all will get back to normal
