Thread: Why I LOVE Weaponsmithing!

So, i have a thread on the poopy customers, and its all good and fun to poke at them. But i really do love this profession.
I have luckilly fallen into a niche with a couple master merchant freinds. The vast majority of my business is with them. I am based on naboo. They are on corellia and Tat. they order bulk wepaons at discount, and i make them.
For example, My guy on corellia, south od coronet has already ordered a krayt of every weapon on the brawler tree. I copleted that for aproximately 1.4 million. Now we are working on the marksman tree in 3 phases, pistols, carbines, and rifles(duh).
So i go to his shop to drop off 7 crates of wepaons(dh17, dl44, scouts, fwg 5's, srcombat, forgot what others). and as i'm offering them to his vendor, i hear, "Man I LOVE your guns!"
And for about 10 minutes we chatted and spoke. He always shopped at the master merchants store which offers EVERYTHING you could think of, including my guns. And I mentioned i was dropping off more pistols, told him to contact me if he ever needed a special order, etc.
The point being, I dont deal with nearly as many random customers as others. But I still get the pains in the butts. But this guy who only knew my name from the weapons he purchased from an indirect source thanked me out of nowhere, and it showed me that this proffession more than any other, really is utilized by practically everyone in the game.
Even more than armorsmiths. Not everyone has armor, but everone has at least a pistol, or something. If only for display in their houses. We rerally have an impact on our community. Thats why I like this proffession.

So how long did it take you before you got you first "You rock"?

Yes this is true. I have a rant post that i did last night here in this forum. It was late and you could say that i had finally snapped lol. I don't even need a "you rock" or "i love your weapons", I'm just happy when i find another player that appreciates the time that i am taking to do whatever it is that he needs done.

I like making weapons because of the nice feedback as well. The ppl in my PA become like little children at christmas when I got back and talked about custom orders. That's the nice pat on the back for making good weapons

I love the positive feedback from buyers........a good acknowledgement of the time spent crafting. I enjoy the challenge of creatingor improving a weapon. I also enjoy my Master Merchant Skill, so making weapons supports that skill well.
