I have been a Master Weaponsmith for about 2 months now, and the thing I still can't figure out is how to get organized. I have alot of resources on me, but I am trying to find a better way than maxing my inventory and backpack. Then when I put my bandolier on I can't pick the backpack back up without moving a ton of crap around in my inventory. I am just looking for some advice on how to fix this problem.

I was thinking of using backpacks, but then it is a pain in the rear to grab something from (x) room and go to the station. Thanks for your help!

If you want to use the Tool kit then I would:

Put the backpacks within reach of the station, so you just need to open them up.

Bear in mind that you can shuffle inventory while crafting, if you angle the screen right you can have 3-4 backpacks open at once.

Personally, I don't understand why you need 50+ resources on your person *while* crafting. Just put *everything* into the one backpack, and drop it.

Then pick up your backpack of "Good Melee Resources", and work away.

That sounds like a pretty good idea. Thanks for the advice. I will definately try that.

All my resources sit in 4 packs on my wall next to my crafting station.

  • Non-ferrous (copper and aluminium)

  • Ferrous (steel and Iron)

  • Chemicals (gas,polymer etc)

  • Misc (ores and stuff I harvest for credits and power etc).

There are over 120 of em in there too but this seems to at least keep them in some semblance of order (reserve stacks of 100k are stored in the bank tho for those uber resources).

I use a medium generic so the first room is my shop with limited decorations and the second room is my rancor enclosure (just dropped a pet rancor there for security ) then the back rooms it where the station is with my packs (also have 2 for odd crates of melee and ranged weapon components).

I also use Foomans WS tool from swgcraft.com to rationalise what I need to use where and jsut pick up the resources from the pack on an as needs basis I never carry them around with me anymore (i used to but when the number went above 50 it just became impossible)!

I wear my tool set 95% of the time but carry a backpack with me for transporting large amounts of wares from my factories and for when Im out checking my harvesters.

I have my 10 most used resources on me most of the time.

I have 3 packs next to my crafting station. The closest one holds the resources I use the most next to the ones I already have in my inv. I have a 4th pack for temporary storage of cubes, agents, krayt tissues and the like.

I try to keep only 1 stack of each resource in the packs next to my crafting station and keep the rest in storage in other buildings.

Crates of finished weapons I keep in the bank. I try to put no more than 25-50 of each type of weapon on my vendors so they dont get too cluttered. Of course my vendors are only a 20 sec walk from the closest bank.

yup I'm in a backpack on walls organization style

one for steel, one for iron/copper, one for alu/gems/ore, one for gas/radioactive/misc, and one for chems

there's no point I could hold all the ressources in my inventory/backpack, just let em around your crafting station

oh and of course got backpacks for loots, geno loots/schems, and another for component crates

I might add more backpacks to sort quality/low quality ressources as well.

I got 86 different resources on me at all time

My house is full of resources and parts - and I have no other place to store the resources than in my inventory - unless I build a new house with only crafting stations and resources.

I agree with a number of earlier posts. I use backpacks to arrange my resources. I have iron/steel, alum, copper, chem, and then one for ore/gem. It makes it somewhat easier. I just wish I had more space, would like to organize further. Must be that UO bod hunting trait I have.

I just store everything in the input hopper. Little used resources in backpack nearby.

When I need to run to my factories, right outside my house, I just pull out the resource, split and run.

My large house has a few decorative items (paintins, special weapons, etc.) and my crafting stations, but is mostly filled with resources stacks of under 100K. I've broken them up into groups: Iron, Steel, Aluminum, Copper, Gemstone, Other Mineral, Organics, Chemicals and Gasses. Then I have one small storehouse with my 100K stacks, again broken out into the same groups. Finally I have a third storehouse filled with weapon ehanchers and sub-components. Fortunately I have more than one account, so I have enough lots to do this. I don't store things in my factories though, because I've heard of too many horror stories using them for storage. I try not to make large runs of sub-components unless I'm going to use them right away to make a batch of weapons. I'd rather "store" them on my schematics, so to speak.
