Thread: As a weaponsmith, what would you think about this copper?
It's Kelsh Copper:
CR: 552
Cond: 830
DR: 461
HR: 507
Mall: 800
OQ: 795
SR: 620
UT: 640
And to be more specific, I understand what materials are needed and how their stats affect the weapons, but how good are these stats? Can you consistently find better stats? I know that uber copper was around for awhile, the Eweodhi or something like that and I've still got quite a bit of that, but basically, as a weaponsmith, are you consistently able to find over 900 on OQ and Cond.?
Well, I've got a buyer that buys anything that I sell him for a set price, but I was wondering if any weaponsmiths would be interested in this particular stack of stuff.
I'd say that copper is fairly "meh".
Of course, I mined over 400k of the good stuff (1000/990) while it was in shift, and hope to have enough to last me the rest of my crafting career. ![]()

I wish we had access to that on Tempest... recently had 2 interesting polysteels spawn... 951 CD 975 OQ and one that was 1000CD (OQ was the in the mid 600's)... I would kill for something like that to find its way into our resource spawns
well for a novice weaponsmith or beginning master i would have to say its acceptable, thats not extremely that good of a resource, I was using 1700 combined 1800 combined, was best i found for a long time on my server, now have some 1900+ combined

if your looking to sell it, i hope you didn't expect to become mega rich overnight
It kinda depends on supply and demand, and which server you're on.
In my mining experience, taking about an hour to go to 1-2 cities on 1-2 planets, I can usually find a resource with 900+ conductivity easy. Sometimes the "overall" stats aren't great, but so what? For the item you are looking to craft, if the ONLY experimentation factor is Conductivity, then it doesn't matter if it has good Shock Resistance, or even Overall Quality, for that matter. However, there are many items where OQ *does* matter.
For example, right now I've beenmining some 971 Conductivity Copper. It also has like a 15OQ. Most items don't use *purely* copper, so when crafting an item, you can get your Conductivity from the Copper, and use the other resource for OQ, or SR, or whichever. I have also found a resource with about a 945 CO, with like 875+ OQ.
It's just a numbers game. Find the resource with the highest values in the quality that the items ask for. If you're making vehicles, you want the item to have a high SR as well. But many weapons don't require that stat, but they do require Conductivity - so go for high Conductivity.
To answer your question: Can you usually find resources with 900+ in the stat you need? Usually, yes. And the key is to mine more than enough of that resource at that time, so that when there is a shift, you won't run out and have to pay out the wazoo on the Bazaar for it.. When they do shift, try to survey and find a new source ASAP, so you can make full use of your extractors. (they don't do any good in your inventory, and very little good mining a resource you don't want... unless you need grinding materials)
Hope that helps, at least a little!

I'd think "blah" I have better. Too bad it isn't as good as p4samwise has though. For copper CD must be at least 950 so me to look at it (unless it's Desh then all I can about is UT).

Yep, Junk!!! Especially considering most real weapons dont use Kelsh if any. I dont make anything with less then 800 conductivity providing that is one of the stats that contributes to the weapon. Then again, a lot of weapons dont depend on Conductivity.Anyway, im on Bloodfin, and I find much much better resources then the poor quality Kelsh you have shown us.
