Any Weaponsmith, higher skilled the better. I believe the concensus is repair before 50% for best results.

Jedi will be rare and difficult - No
Increased Dev communication - No
CU will balance combat - No
Most of the bugs from launch fixed - No
saintchuck will continue to pay - No

- I supported the CURB, the Devs and the attempt to make SWG a better game and have realized it didn't work so I'm quitting in less than 2 days and won't be tricked into coming back again. Trick me once, shame on you...

Better to repair before 50% otherwise the chance of a success are greatly reduced.

I think there was a post on this by a dev (maybe in one of the guide's or manuals) but you really want to repair a weapon before it goes under 50%! if it gets any worse dont be suprised if you dont get a weapon back!

I'm sorry but I have to completely disagree with this veiw point (even with Dev backing). In my personal experience of repairing weapons I've found that doing sowhile the item is over 50% (or indeed 25%) 9/10 times results in a drastic reduction in the overall condtion.

I find best results happen at around 100 or lower and I advise all my customers of this. The way I see it is you use the gun till 100 or less; you've gotten the value out of it so if it breaks during repair you've lost nothing. I find I get the most of my "Repaired with minor blemishes" at very low cons (one LLC from 32/870 >> 835/835) and will stick to this template regardless. I have no skilltapes either...

BTW I repair my own armour like this and am successful 70% of the time (using high stats tools obviously)...

Dev' Eloper uses Combat Balance Reschedule on you for 6-8 months worth of damage points!
You shoot your mouth off on the forums but miss! You post constructively but it is deleted!
Ubercred It'Duper tips you Cr 27,000,000,000,000,000,000 but you evade it!
Dev' Eloper uses Publish 10 Vendor Fix on you for 55 item limit damage! Your vendors and 12 months of work have become incapacitated!
You use Cancel Account Button on Dev' Eloper for $15 p/m of damage!
Dev' Eloper tries to use JTL Expansion pack on you for $50 worth of damage on you but misses!

You use windows sys32 fdsk utility on StarWars Galaxies program files for 2.4Gb of damage! StarWars Galaxies: An Empire Developed is no more!!

Weapons lose stats if in very low condition (less than 20%?) and the chance of bad results on repair makes it a bad idea to repair if it's in relatively good condition.

I actually agree with you on some parts, Krayt tissue seems to increase chance of failing, sliced weapons also seems to have an increased the chance of failing.

Trying to repaira sliced/krayt weapon above 50% is in my opinion insane.. the chance of failing the repair is too big. I would like to speak up for repairing when the weapon is at 100-200 condition because you got the full value of the weapon, it would suck to repair such a nice weapon such as a sliced krayt weapon is above 50% and fail.

Even tho lower condition should decrease the chance of success, you still had a gun with a long life, it is better destroying it when it is old, then when it is new

I repair all weapons for free, always tells the customer that there is a chance of failing and that my repair tool is 99.8% and I got repair skill tapes, but I can not guarantee success.

Most customers gets very disapointed when I fail on their half a mill weapon.. I always feel as if it was my faul and that I could have done better.. even tho it is just random when I click on that little repair button.

I wish a developer could answer the following questions..

1. How much do krayt tissue lower the chance of successfull repair?
2. How much do less chance of success do a sliced weapon have?
3. Do repairing before 50% have better chance of success then at lower condition?
4. Does it help repairing at a crafting station?
5. How much higher percent do each skill tape point give you for a succesfull repair?
6. Do weaponsmiths actually have repair bonuses?

I honestly feel that SOE's way of letting the players guess if somethign works or not is wrong, I mean.. No one would accept buying a car or a boat without someone telling them if it actually will work driving it on the roads.

*end of rant*
