Would you add a power-up to, or slice a mine for increased damage? Thanks.

You can, but in my opnion, it'd be a waste of time. I guess it would be beneficial, it's just tedious to add a PU to every stack before inserting into minefields.

That's very true.

So you need to take thestacks out of the crate before donating them as defense?

I do believe so.

Hrm, I don't think it's tedious at all. Then again the grind to WS still haunts me, so a simple matter of applying powerups to a set of mines before placing them seem a pittance

Then again I also am in a habit of selling single stacks of grenades on my vendor pre-powered up - it's not that much more effort.

I personally think it's worth the extra few seconds to double click on a mine crate, then a powerup crate, and drag the powerup onto the mine. A regular customer of mine (no pun intended) uses my mines regularly to defend his guild's faction base, which is often under attack. Getting a bunch of mines and then slicing for high damage (i.e.discarding the speed and low damage) - XG mines are hitting over 1,000 damage. Considering there is a a limit to minefields and a limit on how many mines per minefield, a little extra overhead improves a minefield potency by half to two thirds above baseline. Every damage point counts when staving off an attempt to take over your base I reckon and there is a big difference between 650's damage and over 1,000 - especially when it's not PvP modified (if I recall correctly).

Mines are identical aside from names and stats. All mines will go off on all players.

Anti-vehicle mines have the worst stats of all three types and are a total waste of materials.

Well the DRX has medium armor piercing and the AV has heavy AP. So take that into consideration when you see the lower damage of them.

Back when SWGCraft was around there was a thread about the same thing, and through the calculations, the XG mine is the best overall, even with it's lower AP value. I just found this out after making 100 DXR Mines, but the XG Mine is also cheaper to make, so over all it is the best bet.

AV and XG are both AR1. DRX is AR3.

AV is useless. DRX produces about the same damage output as the XG after adjusting for AP but uses more time and resources sothey're not worth making either.

That's probably a problem with the minefield instead of the mines in it, I saw several faction base minefields full of XG mines do absolutely nothing as 50 overt rebels ran back and forth across them.

That was two or three months ago, they may be fixed now since minefields seem to usually go off when people step on them now.

I can guarantee you, that ONLY xg and drx mines work on players, AV r bugged to hell, we don't deal with them, this is from a first hand experience, we had a minefield with nearly 90% AV and 10% drx, all the drx went off, but the 40 imps were easily able to dance on the fields after those went off, they may have fixed it, but its not a risk worth taking, if your attempting to defend a HQ, we had to destroy the minefields, replace them, and throw in "new" working mines, I don't care about time consuming, we slice all our mines, and put on powerups for all of them, more damage = a good thing
