Thread: Quality of proton grenades used in rocket launchers...?

I'm sure somebody out there has experimented with this. Does the quality of the proton grenades used in rocket launcher assembly impact the rocket launcher's statsin any way (e.g. does the grenade damage factor into the launcher damage)?

when I made my first two and onlytwo RL it made no difference this was way back when RL first became vaible to craft tho and other WS at the time were playing with this (figured I would help). I ran oneon crappy Grens thru (and they were really crappy) and did not notice a diff from my "good" RL. I couldn't say if a patch here or there has changed anything as these are not something I sell!

I have tried this periodically, and can say that the quality of proton grenades has never made a difference.

The only real deal here is that I hate crafting crap proton grenades considering I sell them. And like I tell all of my friends who ask me for grinding materials, why would I ever spend time and energy mining or buying substandard resources? =)

I have experimented this recently, and the answer is....it makes no difference. I made 2 rocket launchers, one with good protons, the other with low-quality protons. All other components and materials were identical. The stats before any experimenting were exactly the same.

i think the schematic coding just 'checks the box' to note they're there, like control units. I've never seen a difference based on the quality of a control unit.

This is good news - I have a couple of customer requests for rocket launchers, and I was dreading the prospect of tracking down good spawns of all the resources that go into the **edit** proton grenades. Being able to use substandard materials for the majority of the weapon makes my task quite a bit easier. Thanks to all who responded!

I'm sure you're probably on top of this one but you never know .... for heaven's sake use regular feeds and power handlers. A weaponsmith friend of mine used advanceds on RL's and don't sell any much more than other folks. Coupled with the 4 month dry spell of Ostrine ... people are feeling the grip. Ostrine went for 258cpu yesterday on Gorath. I wept.

Good point. I guess the extra few points of damage from using advanced components don't matter all that much on a big-ticket item like that.
