I'm a brand new master weaponsmith and I'm putting out 70-141dmg 2.1speed scouts. Most of the weaponsmiths are making 73-142dmg 1.8spd scouts tho. I was wondering When your experimenting What row should I exp with to help out the spd... as far as I've seen when I exp the dmg row the spd goes down as well. And also when making the components I'm getting -0.69spd on advblaster pistol barrels but on adv power handlers I'm only getting -0.32 ... is the higher the better like .69 or the lower?

.. How did you get to Master without knowing these things?

Nevermind, I don't want to know.

Anyway, speed on parts: lower= better. Can lower speed by experimenting into damage, and that's all.

The speed on components will (should) always be negative. This is the speed that gets added to the final weapon's speed. Since the value on the part is negative, it will result in a lower speed stat. After that, your best bet to reduce the speed on your weapon is to get ahold of high quality resources and load your experiment points into damage.

If you're still having trouble after the above posts. I would suggest you ensure you're using the most appropriate materials for the parts you're making

You know, this isn't really clear. Technically, -54 is "lower" than -22 (when considered as a negative integer). When considered as a positive integer, 22 would be "lower".

The orginal poster referred to -69 being the "higher" number, when it actuality, it is lower than-32

Can someone please clarify?

When experimenting components for speed, a "bigger negative number" is best. I.e., in the above example, a component with a -.54 speed is better than a component with -.22 speed rating, since speeds of components are added to the speed of the final item. So, given a Scout with a 2.5 base speed, a -.54 component would lower the overall speed to 2.0, whereas the -.22 component would produce an overall speed of 2.3. It's simple mathematics, exactly as Logix stated.

Thanks Cael -- wasn't having problems with the math - just the ambigous terminology.

This cleared it up definitively- thank-you.

Understood. I wasn't implying anything about your mathematical skills. I guess the biggest problem in this game is that EVERYTHING is so ambiguous!
