Hey Allas1,

Well it really depends. When making things strickly by hand the numbers can sort of flip flop abit on the experimentation. On the weapons I make, if they can take a scope I use them. I experiment the HAM down to 1 and if any points are left I'll put them in wound or range. From the impression I get alot of other weaponsmith do the exact same, seems like common practice. I've heard that sometimes, all be it very very rarely, a particular crafting session can create a very goodstat starting base on the project your working on. Also a question to ask would be how many experiment points at once. Sometimes if you use 2 or more and it says great success it might not be the true. The system accounts for each point individuallyand only shows the result of the last point used.

This is where you have to look at the starting percentages when you first combine the materials before experimenting. e.g lets say the FWG5 you just made starts with a 17% in the damage area. In the experimentation phase you place one point you place in to this catagory and get a great success. If you look at the percentage number it would now say 24%, for each great success adds 7% to the original amount. Now if you placed 2 points instead of the one and get a great success, that adds 14% to the 17% (starting number) and you would have 31%, sweet. But when you check the number it actually say 28%........huh?.....what happened? This is where what I've stated from the first paragraph comes in to play. The system, no matter how many points of 2 or over you use only shows the result from the last point calculated as it does each number one at a time. In using those 2 points from above, the first point was a moderate success and the second was a great success hence why the ending number is 28% and not 31% and yet it uses the last result, the great success,to tell you how it did over all.

*head still spinning* Ya I know......a bit confusing, sorry. But if you were using the same materials each time and sub-parts from factory crates, then the FWG5 should have been slightly lower in stats without the scope than with the scope and it would be roughly consistant each time. If your making each part from scratch well then even with the same materials the numbers can be be all over the place, which the second paragraph applies even more in factoring in what may have happened in your creations.
