I just did a search on these - and the consensus seems to be that the quality has no effect on the final product.
Most of these posts however,were several patches ago.
Is this still the case?

is it new that Control Units have a "quality" experimentation bar? I don't remember seeing this before, but then again I don't make many master artisan items.

Yes this stat became visible with this patch, haven't been able to test if it has any effect however.

Well this is just initial observation but the quality of control units surely have an effect on the number of charges on the vehicle customization kits I make. And I noticed way more critical failures when i put together weapons with crappy control units.

Well that's encouraging!! Perhaps the time/resource investment isnt a total loss after all!
