Thread: Can a HLR be double capped? (Tempest) and what are your general stats?

I am trying to create "the perfect rifle" (am non WS) and I have 180 max dmg. power cells and a (somewhat controversial) +62 weapon accuracy scope.


1) Generally with those enhanced power cells and a good scope can a HLR be double capped in the SAC and DMG areas and then sliced down to the speed cap?


2) Also I was told by a WS that you guys can make better stocks and barrels than can be looted ...was curious about the validity of that statement.

Generally with a loot scope, cells, and a crafted stock the SAC on a rifle starts out already capped. Enhanced cells are just that good.

Loot stocks have damage and speed mods. Crafted stocks have SAC reduction mods but make it slower. Its generally better to use crafted stocks as its tougher to reduce SAC by experimentation without one. It can be done but its more efficient not too.


The last HLR I crafted using the exact same scope and similar cells was double capped easily. Although I had a tough time finding some duralloy steel with decent OQ.

what are the crafted caps for the HLR? I know SAC is 82 as for all rifles, but what about dmg and speed?

yeah I forgot about that post .. hehe


I made one last night and the damage only maxed at 1140, using 183 dmg cells. I of course immediately capped sac (actual #'s were something like 78 or so) which leads me to beleive I exp too much on effeciency while making the ABPH's. I wish there was some formula we could follow to know what the subcomponent stats should be to achieve the caps (or at least get close to them) without wasting exp pts so the rest can exp into some other stat to help the final build. I wonder if anyone has built an excel spreadsheet where you can plug in the stats of all subcomponents along with the resource stats to build the final weapon to see what the base stats are followed by whatever combo of great or amazing successes for 12pts.

I'm 99.9% Sure Ill cap Damage and Sac and with 12% speed Slice Would be near speed Cap.
