Is there really nothing other than putting these in factories that I can do other than destroy them?

drop them and pick them up again

you will be able to use them then

just use the radial menu on the last one and do unstack if you drop or have them in your inv long enough the 1 will go away as well.

but i just use the radial menu and do unstack and use the one with the 1 for the schematic.

I also have luck just simply examining them when I get that message. They usually go in on the next attempt
