Thread: Weapon Repairs Broken

Not sure if this has been brought up anywhere or not, I couldn't find the thread if it has.

I am a Master Weaponsmith using 100% tools to repair weapons. Before Publish 7 I got roughly the results I expected. Mostly minor blemishes, and the occasional failure and reduced condition. Now since the patch, I have repaired 7 weapons in a row and they ALL got redeuced condition. I have currently halted repairs. I saw in another thread that repairs for both armor and weapons is broken currently.

Question I have is:

1. Has SOE admitted its broken?

2. If it is broken, is there any timeframe for it to be fixed?

Have you tried using a 99.9% repair tool? I read in another post a problem with moderate successes using 100% crafting stations and 100% crafting kits with 1000 SR resources. Perhaps, and this is a BIG perhaps that is not in any way proven, SOE's fix to the one-day release of the experimentation patch was to nerf repairs and experimentation with 100% tools??? Not my intention to start a rumor, just a thought...

Yah, it's a known issue (link). It's been posted here, on the main forums and in the weekly live discussion thread a number times, with no reply from SOE or the correspondants.

Considering the effect it's going to have on every weapon in the game today, you'd think it would be a higher priority issue.

my WS friend has stopped repairing too because of that same problem. I lend him my weapon repair kit bandolier and he repaired 3 of my weapon that has been worn down to 1/3 and had all 3 successfully repaired. He was so happy he danced all over his shop while screeming WOOHOO. Try borrowing or have one made and try it out. Hope this helps you out.

That is why I asked if it was a bug or intentional. SOE needs to state this in fact is the way it will be or, oops we did it again.

As for Krayt, this little bug is making Krayt sales go UP, and the prices go UP. The demand for the Krayt weapons is increasing that the supply can't meet them. I asked my partner who could get 9 tissues at +168 for 30 mil if the cost can be recovered. He didn't think so, however, since the weapons are falling apart, easily got 30 mil for not even half the tissues used.

You know everyone thinks this is a bug, but in all reality it probabally is not. SOE has done this type of thing through numerous patches and so on intentionally. The devs see that on average servers have one hundred guns to player. They resolve that this is a drag on the data base. They do something make it harder to repair weapons. Thus blowing more weapons up. End result a decrease in the number of ingame weapons. In the short term the number of weapons available decreases. People go into their stockpiles at a faster rate. After a month or so the gambit starts to slip the smith have upped production, and the patch is unpatched.

Have we all forgotten the armor chestplate bug. That was real genius the chestplate takes all the damge so blows up lightning fast result person buys new chestplate. Over and over again. The number of other armor peices goes through a decrease. Eventually the amount of armor in the game goes down.

This also has the bonus of rebalanceing the weapons in the game. Gross decrease in krayt weaponry. Forceing funds to be diverted. To buy more or obtain the materials. In other words guns blowing up not only decreases the quality and number of guns, but forces the use of resources to replace them. Forceing smiths to obtain more resources. Which might entail more factory mine use along with travel costs.

It is a huge conspiracy or so the computer chip they planted in my head tells me.
