Thread: Question: Resource Quality

I have found that resources for advanced components are hard to come by. The few I have found are pretty crappy. My question is, is it still worth it to make 11 - 18% base stat advanced weapon components? What do you all normally use?

I appreciate the insight (I'm a noob WS of about a month).

I was thinking of adding a new slogan to my signature:

"I make noob weapons" (Can't seem to find good resources!)

im also a noob WS.the ones i found that are almost worthless are advance blaster rifle barrels.but yes the resources required for advance components are usually capped on their conductivity and OQ especially doonium iron.i hate that stuff.

Personally the only thing I don't make as an adv component is the blaster rifle/pistol barrel, most of the other adv components I got decent resources to make with.

It depends on the part. Power handlers, PFM, and projectile barrelswill always be better than non-advanced, scope will only be better if you have high OQ materials, and blaster barrels use materials that always suck so it doesn't really matter if yoursare "good" or not. The blaster barrels can get much higher accuracy than normal with slightly higher damage and a minor decrease in speed, whichmakes themworth using sometimes.

in general, advanced components are good for adding a slight "edge" to your weapon, however, most advanced components are slower than the regular counterparts.

So, if an extra 0.2 to 0.4 to speed is more important than 2 or 10 damage, and a nice ideal range bonus, then go for the original.

On the resources, just keep collecting. Eventually you will get a spawn of a "rare" with good stats, and you want to be in position to jump on it fast when it does. For example, for the longest time Naritus had no spawns of Ostrine Ore. When it finally did start spawning again, the first two or three had really horrible stats. But after a few shifts an Ostrine Ore appeared that had decent stats. Moral of the story: Always check and mine (if good) any rare resource that spawns, even if you already have a bunch. Younever know when you'll hit a dry spell and need it, or when something will spawn that make's last week's version look like a grind resource.

On the advanced components, your best bet is to run a prototype of each and compare stats. Generally speaking, advanced components will give you about twice the damage potential of a basic, with a very slightly lower speed rating. There's no magic percentage - but comparing the stats using your best possible resources on each will tell you what you should be making.

Keep in mind that a .1 or .2 difference in speed on a weapon isn't that big a deal if you have a decent damage increase, but if you start stacking up the advanced components that speed modifier can really add up, so sometimes it's best to only use one advanced component instead of two or more.

Oh, and until they're fixed, don't bother with advanced stocks or advanced scopes. They're not worth the HAM costs.

advanced stocks not worth the HAM cost?

I dunno about you, but I would say 99% of my customers don't give a rats ass about HAM, everyone plays buffed.

And that other 1% usually orders 2 guns : One with a stock and one without
