Thread: Anyone figure out a good exp combo on components?

I did a little test the other day with High Capacity scatters, which take 1 ABPH and 1 APPB...

My inital tests were solely in changing the stats on the ABPH, 1 maxed out spd & rest in dmg, 1 maxed out dmg & rest in spd, and one where I put an even # of points into speed and damage.

Keeping all other components equal, the speed maxed ABPH gave the scatter the highest dps upon assembly- but when experimenting the weapon further on speed, it ended up being the lowest DPS of the three I experimented. The scatter that I exp'd dmg on all the way through (except for the APPB which was kept constant) had the second highest DPS, only 0.27 DPS lower than a evenly exp'd weapon.

I have to run further experiments to see if there is a combo of experimented components that gives a high dps...

Any thoughts?

I've run similar tests myself. I find that experimenting speed (when possible) in all sub-components and damage on the final build yields the highest DPS. But if anyone has other results, I'd love to hear them.

I've had the same results. Special requests aside, comps give the greatest return when experimented toward speed, and weapon assemblies are best experimented toward damage.

I expect this is an attempt by the Devs to close the gap between the effectiveness of a 10pt smith and his 12pt rival.Leaving us all of our experimentation lines, but making one path the obvious winner will insure thatthe 12pt will beat me nearly every time, but not by a large margine. Too bad they didn't do the same for the armorsmiths.
