Great question! Is there a subcomponent that effects speed more than another? Is there an attribute such as OQ or the conductivity that effects speed more and I am missing it? I realize the experimental damge effects speed in construction of any part or whole unit.

The omission of a rifle stock whether advanced or not will help alot on some weapons. You will see less damage from the weapon but your returns in speed and less HAM are a good trade off. Secondly, experimenting the components for damage/speed used in the weapon will help also in the endeavor. Lastly, of course is the quality of the resources used because better resources means more experimentation points.

For many of the guns (not all), there are two components that are going to have a dramatic impact on the speed of the weapon-1.) blaster power handlers and the 2.)pistol/rifle barrel. When you make these components you will see the speed factor appear in the crafting window (its a negative number and the higher the better). There are4 ways (probably more that I havent' thought of) to increase the speed factor:

1. Advanced components-certainly the advanced power handler will give you better speed. I've found with the resources that I have that the adnvanced barrels help with damage but not speed.

2. Better resources- absolutely have to have good resources greater than 900

3.Enhancing items like Krayt for power handlers, etc. enough said

4. Exploits yes they exist though I stay way from them.

Valius,

speed and damage both come from experimentation under "damage". You'll notice that if you experiment an item once and get 52%, it may come out 2.4 speed and 197 damage, but if you experiment and get 54%, it comes out 2.6 speed but 203 damage. Unless you can experiment far enough to fill the little blue bar BELOW the experimentation blocks, you'll never know if you've gotten the ultimate dmg AND speed reduction.

Note that experimenting damage can also boost wound chance.

My advice is to experiment a LOT, and look at the weapon stats, not just the % experimentation. Some of your experimentation attempts will boost speed more than damage. If what you want is speed, keep those ones.

If I want a weapon to come out really perfect, I'll generally experiment at least 25 times, but then I'm not a master yet - your mileage may vary.
