I think option 2, surveying is not bad to have when that super spawn of <insert extremely rare and good resource here> that only go for 100cpu in the trade forum

There are missions in which you "deliver an item while hostiles attack you" in every profession. I still don't consider [Smuggler's Alliance] pilots to be Smugglers, nor 'Smuggling' - at least not any more than Rebel Pilots or Imperial Pilots might sometimes "smuggle", with a lower-case s - JFreeman - 10/6/04

Alright, so I'm down to the last few skill points, and I'm having trouble deciding which of two scenarios I should choose.

I am a Master Weaponsmith, Master Smuggler. I've decided that I need vendors to sell my items, so I have went up to Novice Merchant.

Now, here are my three options:

Should I drop all of the Surveying line so I can get Advertising III (Planetary Map) and Vendors 1 (one extra vendor), or should I keep all of my Surveying and just be happy with Novice Merchant and the two vendors I get?

1) It would be very nice to put my vendors on the planetary map, and have 3 vendors to control. I could just buy all of my resources from other people and never have to worry about surveying/sampling again.

2) I'm not going to be mass-producing weapons, so I will have only the customers I tell about my shop or visit the high-traffic area it's in. So I may not have a use for the Planetary map advertising. Two vendors is fine. And now, if I want to, I can survey/sample and then place harvesters down and get the good resources I find myself.

3) I drop Novice Merchant completely, keep Business III and have just one vendor, and then use my extra points elsewhere, like perhaps novice Pistoleer to have the certifications for the DX2 and the Republic Blaster.

What are people's thoughts on this?
