I tried reading in the politician forum (shudder...cleans off grime) about the impact of reseaech centres.
It states in the dismall FAQ that it helps experimentation and gives a 15% bonus to final assembly.
Now does it help experimentation ?? as in extra exp points ?? or does it just help assembly.
The 15% to assembly will be applied to my 125 ? or will it be capped.
At whar stage can a Player City get this reward ? as a village or only as a City ?
Thanks and sorry for not being 100% WS question

Research center supposedly helps experimentation
Manufacturing center supposedly helps assembly.
I have often noticed WORSE experimentation inside research centers, so your mileage may vary.

When I am crafting in my home town, which is a research center, I notice more great and amazing successes when combined with food. BUt a few times I crafted in theed, using only food, and it was the only time I got critical failures on assembly, and failures on experimentation.
the 15% basically says If you get a Moderate success in a NPC City, you have a 15% better chance of it being bumped to a good success. So any Moderate successes I get in my city, chances are if that was in a NPC city it would have been a failure.
I believe it works, as my experimentation has vastly improved since the city became a research facility, and I have yet to critical fail in the city since bcoming a research center.

AH, sometimes RS works and I notice it.
Sometimes I can make a million BPHes and never fail. Until I put Krayt tissue in one...
