I've been a Master WS on Radiant for about 10 months now. I reported this "occurance" of what I coin the "freak" or "lucky" initial assembly to the devs long ago, but they clearly have not fixed this nor made "Amazing Successes" meaningful, cept on a final investment into a non-maxxed line of experimentation.
The "freak" assembly first happened to me when I made a 111-170 damage 2.1 speed DX2 Pistol. I was accused of "exploiting" or whatever and even had to explainwhat happened to a CSR because a number of WS's "reported" me.
I later made a 105-150 damage 1.9 DX2, a 42-423 damage 5.3 speed (non-stock) Laser Rifle (this was damn good 9 months ago), a non-stock 6.8 speed T21 when ourserver finally got Rainbow Gemstone (6 month wait from launch) and I recall making a 70-219 damage 2.1 speed Republic Blaster as well.
Well, earlier today, I made this freak T21. 178-420 Damage 7.1 Speed 1100/1100 Condition 40.8% Wound Chance +25 Ideal Range 70 / 64/ 104 HAM.

I always use a unique 1000 unit run of APH's when I make my T21's forassemblies just like this. I know these "freak" assemblies are still active in the game code, I usually get an initial 15% on the damage/speed line, but I got 18% with this Rifle. I knew I had something special and unique, and experiment went perfect (all "great" successes). 12 Experimentation points were used.
If anybody has the ability to get a dev to notice this thread, please do so. I used to post pretty often on the WS forum in the past about the problems with crafting, notably, the deterimental affects of a "moderate" success, an amazing success being meaningless and running the gauntlet to get all "great" successes making crafting, well, annoying.
I ain't gonna get on a rant here about all the useless "content" the devs spent their time on, but this "problem" with crafting has been around for well over 3/4 of a year. Time for a fix is long overdue, and not some stupid one day fix that totally hurts 10 experimentation point crafters...
