Thread: New Master WeaponSmith looking for some help
Well from the sounds of it - would I be far off the mark to say that you didn't do anything but grind til you hit master, without paying any attention to the requirements of our best weaponry?
If so that was a pretty big mistake.
As you have stated you are overwhelmed by the sheer complexity of the craft and I can only guess you were not expecting this because you just ground your behind off.
You're probably missing a ton of resources that are required to make any headway in this business. Your best bet is to check the schematics you have and take note of what resources are needed, and compare to what you actually do have, and start looking for these planet to planet as well as trying to find them for sale on your server (or post a WTB post on your server trade forums, listing the stuff you need).
Spend some time making some lower end weapons to get a feel for the process as well. Pay attention to the qualities schematics call for. Gun frames are 50/50 OQ/Cd but things like blaster power handlers are 66/33 Cd/OQ and blaster barrels 66/33 OQ/SR. That type of thing.
You'll also be wanting an equipment factory.
Good luck!
Your success will be directly tied to your ability to recognise and harvester resources that have the best stats for any of your weaponsmith schematics. If you don't have a stockpile of the best resources, your customers will shop with a different smith that is able to produce better stats on his weapons because of the resources they used were better than yours.
That is why I developed the Hooded Nomad Craft Tool (HNCT), it lets you:
- Track the resource stockpileyou have collected and report resource stock lists
- Enter schematic data
- Display best resource to beused from your stockpilefor any schematic in the database
- Compare any new resource to the resources you have in your stockpile, for all schematics
- Track items sold on vendors and report vendor stock lists
You can see the HNCT in actionvia this video I made (DivX codec required):

Highly advise you find/create somethinglike the HNCT to assist yourself. The HNCT is not yet available but will be as soon as I implement a user registration system into the database.
