Practice makes perfect...

In the real world the more you work with a particular item the more familiar you become with it. You learn its strengths, weaknesses, and tolerances and can better formulate ways to change it to make it better. Why couldn't crafting have a similar calculation, so crafters could specialize in specific products. Here is how it would work:

The game would keep track of how many of a particular item you have crafted and based on that number provide better crafting results or experimentation numbers. So someone who has crafted 10,000 DX2 pistols makes a much better DX2 than someone just making their first. This system would only have to track one extra piece of info per item you can craft and do one extra calc at crafting time. Simple right? Of course there are many possibilities with this... same as xp now factory runs count less and practice gives a bonus and so on. This would take care of making a difference between masters and novices and even help make differences between masters as each would specialize on different weapons.

As you can see when coupled with the current experimentation system and the quality of resource differences this could make for very large diversity in crafting. Granted many would make the same elite items, but even now crafters normally specialize in a few items they like to make and doing so would benefit them. This even adds longevity to the profession you pick. Just think, the longer you do it the better you get. You don't simply stop at the experience cap.

Just a thought... if someone has already mentioned this please don't flame I just do not have all the time it would take to read all posts. So what do you guys think?

Also, I posted this a few days ago but gave it a terrible title... sorry if you have seen it. I did add some thoughts this time.

Its not a bad idea. Only problem being it would make all the crafting profesions even more of a grind then they already are.
