Thread: Current Thinking : Do tools matter and what about droids

Its been a while and many a patch has slid onto production.

Is the current thinking :

The crafting tool (as close to 14) makes a difference to 'amazing success' successes

The crafting stations (as close to ?43?) makes a difference to ''amazing success' successes

How does a max experiment droid containing a crafting station compare to a 43 crafting station ?

Thanks, Bob'the Builder

Yeah I'm wondering that to.

I believe the better your equipment the better your results. Though I am starting to find out that experimentation/assembly is just as random as buffs are: Research center, +41 crafting station, +15 crafting tool... great, great, moderate... critical failure 3 times in a row on one product; In my home outside of Coronet with no city bonus nor a crafting station at all other then mr droid: great, great, great all the way to 90 something %.

/sigh...

I am wondering though if a droid's crafting station is just as good as a +44. I heard it is and I have no reason to think it's not only that if it is just as good then those +44 crafting stations would be a waste of money.

same here, the research towns dont seem to provide any more of a bonus

He he this is good then for three reasons

The best crafting station I have made is 37.

I am a master DE.

Thus I shall continue with my 14.4 tool and lil'bob my probot/crating/inventory storage botmachine

From my own experience, I have seen that the Droids with crafting stations are better than most of the stand alone private stations. I forget which gun it was, but with a stand alone, I made it a certain way with certain stats. I then went outside, called my droid and experimented on the exact same gun, with the exact same resources, in the exact same manner. The damage came out 1-2 poitns higher. I repeated this several times. IT IS NOT a big difference, but if your components are on the verge of the next % higher, a droid will push the product over that threshold, whereas the stations, in my experience, will not.

**This was using a 40% station. I have not tried it with a 100% experimented station, which would be what? 44%? So the main point of this post is that if you are not using a 100% experimented station, youre better off using a droid. Considering that, I would wager to say that there is no difference between droids and maxed out stand alones.

I have found the same thing, poeple always used to swear that it counts but I always disagreed. Well when grinding weapons smith I had 3 tools with -qaulity and a 3 with +13 qaulity and couldnt seem to tell any differance. The only thing I noticed was that somedays the system seemed to be a gainst me and then other days I could craft no wrong, but thats just probably bad luck lol.

I know that some of the driods I have used before had -qaulity crafting stations and high qaulity stations and did not notice a differance when crafting.

The other thing that makes me believe it doesnt matter is that as often as this is disputed I dont think there is one dev repsonse that gives a deffinative answer to this debate no matter what forum I see it listed in ie...DE, WS, Artisan, AS....

There definatly is no differnce in uality of items. I do find i get MUCH less crit. failures when using a better crafting tool.

I ALWAYS get much better results when using my droids, to craft and experiment than I did with the +43 FR crafting station that I made.....

More crit fails with the station, more moderate/crit's during experimentation than when using any of my 5 droids, all are either r2/R3's with loaded chassis........
