Just a thought, instead of restructuring the crafting system because the implication is that the gear is too good why not adjust the gear to bring it into line with combat changes.

Right now I really don't see a reason to craft a number of the weapons that just appear broken or as the devs would say "not working as intended". Changing the balance of power through schematics would definately provide players with more options.

Some issues that I see as a problem:

1. Swords, Curved Swords and two handed Curved swords have medium armor penetration values...correct me if I'm wrong on the basic sword..There is no reason that any of these weapons should have anything better than light if that. Vibro weapons and power weapons should be providing the bulk of the armor penetration for the melees. ( I play a swordsman on Ahazi and even I'll admit in PVE we appear to be marginally overpowered)

2. Weapon schematics should be completely redesigned. Aspects such as unit toughness and shock resistance should play a more important part in the creation of these weapons. If the most effective weapon is the one with the highest conductivity/quality whythe heckwould anyone create a weapon made of iron? Change the resources associated with making the weapon.

3. Speed should be attained through efficiency experimentation, not damage.

4. Make experimenting in the ranged, efficiency, durability bars mean something. Even if I use shoddy resources the guns I make are generally 700 condition. The HAM improvements through experimentation just don't justify the cost. Highly accurate guns are nice but it's my belief that everyone hits way too much. As a pistoleer with a negative 50 target mod I'm still gitting for up to 300 points of damage. The only time I'm having trouble hitting is on special moves and almost everything but Overcharge lands 50-60% of the time.

Just some thoughts. I'm sure there are other issues that I overlooked but thats all I can come up with for now.

What do you think?

They had implied that this is what they would be doing. I'm not sure about it but personally I have a problem with anyone not being able to use a gun because of a skill level. You may not use it as effectively as possible but I think the present penalty for using uncertified weapons is doing 1/10th the damage
