I suppose it has it's uses if you want to buy resources and advertise the fact in your shopsign, but why are customers so stupid when it comes to vendor offerings?

I have several merchant tents around Tattooine, and all of them get stupid offers, like the guy who offered me 3 CDEF rifles at 5k each!!. Surely my own bargain bucket prices for CDEF's with twice the dmg was a dead give away. Buy at 5k, sell at 95 credits hmmmm.....

I don't think new players realise that vendors are not part of the Bazaar, or that they are selling only to the vendor owner. I would like to autoreject certain items if I could, and I am considering changing my ad barking to something like

"Welcome to my shop friend, take your time and browse,(if you offer cheap newbie items to my vendor I'll come round and shove them up your ****hole)"

Do you guys get clogged up withdaft offers?

Actually a "trader" bought several weapons from my shop and a few days lateroffered some of them back to mefor almost double the price.

Probably still scratching his head wondering why I didn't jump for the bargain.

Annoying. I've had a couple of people leave stuff up there with messages or orders. Wouldn't it just be easier to use e-mail? I also think part of the problem might be that they think the system will send us an email saying there is something being offered.

I just take it in stride and take solace in knowing as long as I don't accept or deny their offer, that eats up their available slots to put things up for offer.

Specially if they can't remember every single place they tried to peddle this trick.

What I hate most is when someone buys a nice rifle from me for 25k, then uses it to level up, then offers it back to my vendor with 500/941 condition, for 25k.

It's actually pretty convenient for me since I work nights. I actually had a guy offer up a form fitted stock at random once. There are a lot of CDEF's and other crappy weapons. But the funniest has to be a guy who offered up a Tusken recently. Negative condition (how does that happen), 0/0 damage with a 7% wound (so you can wound but not damage?). It had to be the worst loot drop ever. So this guy offers it for 6k. I left it there for a couple of days and finally decided to buy it just for the absurdity factor. I have it on display in my shop (wonder what people think). Anyway, I know what you mean, but the bottom line is that we have the right to refuse and overall it can be a useful feature.

You have a good point. I think I'll just do that from now on. I don't get many crappy drop offs, but when I do it'll stay on. I used to just hit reject, not anymoreI'll just ignore Will leaving it there affect us in any way?

Not at all. It might mean having clutter in your offer window, but you'll eventually filter them out subconsciously.

I've had some guy offer 25 junk CDEF to my vendor over a period of time and I've let them all sit tight. Every now and then when I'm checking my Offers, I'll have a good chuckle imagining this fool trying to offer more junk elsewhere and getting "You have too many auctions active on the galactical bazaar at this time" or something along those lines.

Maybe that's sad, but oh well Just think it's just a small victory in the collective effort between us crafters to bottleneck annoying vendor offerings.

I have a competitor next door, with whom I'm very friendly... on more than one occasion, I get items from his shop offered to my vendors at inflated prices. I guess they're expecting me to be much more stupid than I am!

I've tried a couple of ways to discourage junk offers:

  • One of my vendors barks details of what I'll accept and what I won't (e.g. NO CDEF WEAPONS!)

  • I've a single item for sale on my dedicated Purchasing Droid that gives full details in its description of what I will and won't accept, including some guideline pricing strategies

  • I have a physical sign consisting of a metal staff which 'holds up' a bone armour segment - the segment is called something like "I'll only accept offers of clothes or resources - NO CDEF WEAPONS!", and is reasonably prominently positioned so people should see it.

Catch is, of course, that not one of these seems to be working!!!

It is rather amusing to see some of the offers you'll get. The most irritating though is when people buy weapons not even knowing if they're cert'd than whey they can't use them they offer them back for even more...I usually just tell them no refunds, heh. Or they'll take it out and scratch it up a bit and bring it back even half off. I explain we have a hard enough time selling our weapons once, we certainly don't want to have to sell each one 3 or 4 times.

But I've got about 10 items just sucking away peoples offering lots. Muwaahaha

What really gets me is when someone buys a weapon from someone else, then offers it up to my vendor for 2-3 times the price of what I charge for something I can make myself. Not only are they usually used, but I didn't craft them, do they think we can't craft these items ourselves if we really want too??? lol Some people need to grow a brain.
