Thread: Scope experimentation: All HAM or Ideal Range?

Just wonder what are the more common scope nowadays. I used to spend all experimentation points on HAM reduction so it will go close to 0. But now with all the food/buff/spices, people don't seem to care about HAM cost. So I wonder if it make sense to spend all experimentation points on Ideal Range.

Compare the two versions of Advanced Scope.

All Range:

HAM 21/21/21, Wound 5, Ideal Range 42

All HAM

HAM 1/1/1/, Wound 5, Ideal Range 9.

Which is better in general? Especially for high end combat characters?

Range, range and more range

Experiment HAM down to 1/1/1 then put the rest into range. This will produce a nice range boost for the weapon with very very little penalty.

This is for a std weapon scope. On Ahazi resources not good enough, at least for me, to even consider an AdvScope.

I put these scopes on every weapon I make that will accept a scope. I still worry about Mind HAM, thats my reasoning.

with the ever increasing popularity of getting BUFFed from doctors or eating foods....go range all the way. You can always make a separate batch for those that ask for a lower ham cost weapon, but your majority are the buffed arnolds running around...at least thats what Ive seen smokes.... N Joy

Always try to get the HAM down to 10 or 12 or less. But whatever works.

I am surprised by the number of buyers who have no clue as to HAM, Ideal, etc.

Q: This rifle is way faster than the other.

A: Yes, other has stock and scope, says so in the name.

Q: But the faster one looks better.

A: Then buy it <shrug>.

Lame response, but if you do not have 5 or 10 minutes to explain How a weapon is made, it is the best response.

All they ever seem to glance at is MAX Damage or Speed. Myself, I love to hunker down and zap something with a +50 ideal, heh heh,

I put all into HAM so I produce 1/1/1 HAM cost scopes for my regular weapons, everyone has one of these, my scoped versions are actually that. SCOPED. I have some +86 to ideal range mod scatters+41 @ idealfrom scopes.

I just can't stand the fool of a weaponsmith who makes a 0/0/0 scope as its pointless, or a smith who sells a weapon and promotes it as "scoped" when its only a low end ham one.

I use 2 different versions of advanced scopes. On rifles and carbines and such that I put an adv stock on I use a scope experimented for max range. HAMS are high, but these weapons are mainly for people who fight with buffs. On the non stocked versions ( I sell both) I use a 2/2/2 +15 to ideal scope, and I also use this scope on my pistols to keep the ham cost lower unless a high accuracy scope is requested, which I do see a lot more of that now when making custom builds for people. Thanks to buffs HAM cost in general just isn't the worry that it used to be.
