Example: Does an advanced blade vibro really ad that much more power to a set of vibroknucklers than a standard blade vibro would? Ive been searching high and low for some of the resources to create advanced parts and i want to know if its time well spent.

Thanks,

Civo

Power Handlers : YES, advanced component is much better.

Barrels : For the most part, yes. You will see a minor detriment to speed, at a minor damage increase, and a fairly large range increase

Stocks : Yes

Scopes : Depends. You can get 0-0-0 HAM *regular* non-advanced scopes that add at least 10 to ideal range, or you can go with an advanced scope and get something like 43 to ideal range, 19 to all HAM

Reinforcement Core : Advanced is better than regular, genosian is better than advanced, and acklay bones (loot) are best

Sword Core : Advanced is good, geno is iffy (a geno sword core made with white cubes and no solidifying agent comes out worse than a regular advanced sword core, however a yellow cube + solidifying agent geno core comes out better than an advanced). Rancor teeth (loot) in general are worthless (unless it has over 100 max damage)

Some advanced components are a unilateral improvement, but some are not. I'm repeating some of what Xieflow said, but here's my take on when to use advanced:

Blaster-power handlers and projectile feed mechanisms: The advanced version will have significantly higher damage (approx. double the non-advanced), but be slightly slower (approx. 0.1 slower). In general, always use advanced. However, some weapons which don't meet the speed cap and already have very large damages may be better for the regular version... for example, rocket launchers don't need another 20 damage, but the 0.1 speed might be worthwhile.

Projectile barrels: Always use advanced. They're always better.

Blaster barrels: The blaster barrels offer slightly higher damage and range, for a slower speed. The trade-off is generally better with advanced for pistols, since they're already fast weapons. However, with carbines and rifles, it can go either way. I tend to use normal blaster-rifle barrels on the training weapons (DLT20 rifle, DH17 carbine), because the extra 0.1-0.2 speed makesthe early levelsnoticeably faster.

Chemical-dispersion mechanism: Always use advanced.

Scopes: Both. For low-HAM weapons, use normal scopes experimented on efficiency. For high-accuracy weapons, use advanced scopes experimented on range.

Stocks: Always advanced.

Blade vibro units: Advanced is generally much better, but is slightly slower. In general, use AVBUs, but you might consider a batch of VKs made with normal BVUs for people training Unarmed 1-4 in Brawler. Since they aren't certified, the damage is mostly irrelevant, but the speed isn't.

Reinforcement cores: Always advanced.

Sword cores: Always advanced.

I prefer pretty much all advanced........

As for the barrels.......ill be honest. .1 -.2 in speed......isnt really a huge differnce, especially when you take into account you can change the speed with a slice or powerup. Not to mention the range mods make a very big difference in actual use, with the fighter runing aroudn most likely...........

That being said.......its easier to slice/powerup speed then it is to range mod per se........

I only use the normal versions if speficaly requested (minus the scope at which point i use the normal ( i use 16 1/2/2 normal scopes as 2 ham to just about anything wont make any difference but 16 ideal range will) unless specically requested advanced........

Handler/Feeds: Advanced always. Only PBCs and RLs would use normalbut I don't make them anymore.

Proj Barrel: Always advanced.

Blaster barrels: Advancedon all but Flamers. Speed has no value in SWG since you get speed reductions on most guns.

Chem Disp: Advanced always.

Scopes: Normals on all guns. 0 HAM, +13 Range. Might reconsider now though with all the mind-food out. HAM seems to loose it's factor, making damage the ONLY useful factor when making a gun (wich is bad for the game I think).

Stocks: Always advanced. Remember to do the experimental twist to max them out.

Blade vibro units: Advanced on most. Make a batch of normals that you have maxed HAM instead. Then make VKs with maxed HAM. It will sell like hot-cakes to Master TKs. The stats will totally suck on them, but the Master TKs only want the Light AP and they are already at speed cap. They seem to love them, they can do special after special, no HAM-loss. Like a fist, but with Light AP!... and since 90% of the servers are TKs (and riflemen) now, you'll sell damn well.

Reinforcement cores: Always advanced.

Sword cores: Always advanced.

Its all been said, but a thought on the advanced scopes. It really depends on the oq of your resources. Right now on sunrunner polymer 991 chromium 970 green diamond 779. With this kind of stuff a advanced scope approaches the experiment you can get on a basic. For a larger bonus.

Got 24 percent last night useing 860 chromium. Got one made to wound of 20 one to range of 39. Did a check with ham and was knocking off 3 points and started at twenty two. Was also adding 3 points to range with every experiment. So do the math and advanced can outdo a basic both on wound damage and ham if you use the right materials. Six on the ham and your like at 3 then four to the range plus twelve ontop of the twelve 22. You just cannot do that with a basic scope.

The only real question is how good are your materials. If they are garbage on the advanced. Then no not worth it You will sacrafice something. If the resources are good then you can easily beat the basic with low ham and great range or damage.

advanced scopes can't get under 1/1/1 HAM on experimentation, I believe (not positive though...)

My question is who would want to go that low in the first place. Almost defeats the purpose in scopeing a weapon. I much prefer getting a fwg 5 near fifty percent wound chance or getting a super high range modification, and some guns in the game have really low ham to begin with why not give them a bigger bite. The point is still valid you can still get the ham down on the advanced scope and get a obviously better range or wound chance.

Have talked to so many that arenty even thinking about putting together these great advanced scopes. Talked to three weaponsmiths about this and not only werent they mineing this gold, but havent even thought about improveing their weapons scopes. It really blows my mind that something so simple to improveing a weapon is getting overlooked.
