After a few months of not really grinding that hard I pushed through Master yesterday. Well I thought I had enough resources until I read the schems. Looks like I'll be making some good low end stuff until I get the right resources.
Just some questions:
1. Should I make the switch from medium to heavy harvesters?
2. Should I get another factory?
3. I'd like to maintain my niche market of making quality low end weapons, will this be feasable while I try to make a name for myself with high end gear?
4. Is it practical to have a pricing strategy in which all basic weapon types are 10k or less?
5. Are factional guns worth the effort?
6. Should I join a mall, set up a tent or just leave my vendors in my house?
first of all congrats on hitting master. hope you have more fun being master than grinding it (shouldn't be tough)
1. why not? although i don't have the spare lots to mine my own stuff (dang you storage problems!)
2. i'm running 6 atm. when i started out i had 3 and that was about just enough.
3. don't be too ambitious i say. start out selling guns with non-specific resource requirements and/or melee weapons. they are simpler to achieve good decent results with and that way you can make a name for yourself. if you try to overreach and start to make t21s, they will generally turn out horrible, and you'll also start to drown in all the different resource requirements. if you learn a few new weapons every few days, you'll manage a lot better i think
4. erm I charge less than 10k for all basic weapons. but it all depends on your server economy and what other masters do on your server.
5. factional guns? like what? modified republic blaster? I just make them and sell them anyway.
6. I currently run my shop out of my house, but I personally feel that a tent would be best. Easier for ppl to just stroll in and browse. Houses tend to take a lot more commitment to shopping. Imagine you're a potential shopping in a bit of a hurry, you would rather pop in and out a whole bunch of tents all clustered together, than to run in and out of a bunch of houses sprawled over a larger area. As for malls, if you can find a nicely trafficked one I'm sure that's a viable solution. But i've never done so myself.
Welcome to the ranks of the clinical insane... Ehm ranks of Master Weaponsmiths, yeah weaponsmiths ![]()
Congratulation on the title.

1. If you can afford it, buy the heavy ones and sell the mediums.
2. Yes, you will want more than one factory. Picture this, I got an order for "slicing" grade weapons for a novice smuggler. So instead of using one factory to make 1200+ survival knives, I split the deal up and my 3 factories each made 400 in about 3 hours. It saves time.
3. Yes this is very possible
4. I use a pricing strategy like this. All my advanced melee weapons are 5k, all guns start at 10k. Higher-end stuff like T21s or Flamethrowes go 20-25k.
5. I'm not sure what a factional weapon is.
6. Join a mall if possible. If you want to set up a tent but are not a merchant, get a merchant with efficiency 4 to place one for you, target you, and use the /transferstructure command. Even without merchant skills, you are now the official owner of the tent. Don't put your vendor in your house unless it is in a REALLY high traffic area such as south of Coronet.
