I would always keep a watch on all resources nad see if they are better than what i am currently using ...if so then i seek them out and harvest like a mad man never can tell when something will not spawn for ages ... also swgcraft is your friend check it out... "current resources" menu on the left

Also use survey droids. Ones with higher number rather then speed.

Most necassary items you will need.

Ditanium steel advanced reinforcement cores.

Duralloy steel needed for barrels and usually has a high sr ut good for melee weapons.

Kammris iron needed for some melee weapons usually has a good sr ut

Polysteel copper. Usually has a high conductivity and sometimes a fantastic oq good generic metal and its a specific resource in some things

Ostrine carbonate ore irolunn reactive gas phrik aluminum diatium copper. Specifics needed for advanced power handlers. You really need these.

Corellian deciduous wood and link steel aluminum essential for advanced stocks the easiest way to add damage to carbines and rifles.

Doonium iron used in scatters and jawa ions.

In the FAQ, there is a link to a chart, that is truly handy dandy. It not only lists all the resources you need, but what stats you need to look for too. This isnt like armorsmithing, where all materials have 4 stats that matter. Everything needs something different

I highly reccommend getting Foomans weaponsmithing tool from swgcraft. It has all the schematics and the resources needed. You can load in the resources you have and then you can see what you need. You can download the resources available from swgcraft and then see what to harvest.

TY, atm im still novice because i decided to get survey up to level 4 but i figured its good to have a list incase i see anything i might need in the future pop up and mine the living crap out of it lol. though for skill ups i use whatever is most common and save anything of quality/value for stuff that will go production.

To be a successful WS you need to either

1. Be a bloodthirtsy resource-hound. You will need at least 2 characters, or a reliable lot-swap partner or three. Then get yourself a ber-13 heavy mineral for every lot you have set aside for harvesters. Also have a few deep crusts and heavy has and heavy flora at your disposal also. You never know when some nice cor. deciduous or wicked awesome gas, or 1000oq polymer will spawn.

2. Spend millions of credits buying what you need from the miners because you spaced out and missed a very nice spawn of Diatium copper or crystalline gems...
