I've been a master weaponsmith for months

But i give up, i can't sell enough weapons to keep maintaining my house or vendors, even when i sell weapons at a discount the number of weapons that get bought is too low to keep me logging in.

I refuse to go spam at the starports to attract costumers for my shop.

i don't know how the rest of you are doing it, but after a couple of months with less then one weapon sold per week i give up.

One word:

Bazaar.

I sell pretty basic weapons (Two Handed Axe, FWG5, Striker, etc) for 3-4k. I dump about 5 weapons or so on Lok, Coronet, Theed.

I sell 2-5 weapons a day. I've had all 25 sell over two days before.

I've made next to no sales at my actual Vendor.

You could start sticking the WP to your shop in the 'Advertisting space' of the weapon.

Or you could quit.

Your call.

BINGO, I made crates of dh-17 short carbs and sold them for 3k on the bazzar. I had hundreds of them sell. Just like Brilyn said, put cords to your shop in the name line of the weapon, and pretty soon you'll have loyal costomers.

Good luck

Disregard the above, yeah that thing about the bazaar. Its all about advertisement, and respectability while well creating the best weapons on the server. You have to have the drive to sell great weapons, and acquire all the **edit** to make great weapons. I don't talk all over my server boards about my weapons, and I have a shop on Lok, I have been a weaponsmith since November, and well I know that I have some of the best materials available, then you just have to get people to come buy your weapons. Oh, and for every customer you get to buy and like your weapons, you get 3 to 4 more that may come buy a weapon or two. People that like your weapons will advertise for you, that is really all you need.

The bazaar may be the answer for some, but I don't think its the answer you were looking for. Anyways, good luck on the life after weaponsmith.

Why disregard the bazaar? Why is it disrespectful for a new smith to use it? It helped me to get a start and a customer base, and it is a form of advertisement, far more respectable than spamming at the starport.

Hell I still use the bazaar. I want the best weapons that I can make on my vendors so whenever I craft a better weapon than whats on my vendor, the better one goes on the vendor, and the lesser one goes on the bazaar. Sells just as good. Don't let pride ruin your business, pride makes people fail.

I agree with GregC. The bazaar is an often overlooked tool for bringing in new customers and generating turnover to compliment your vendor sales. I recently switched planet from Corellia to Naboo, and I am currently relying on bazaar sales to keep me going until I get established . I made a crate of E11 carbines and chucked them on at several cities, giving a steady income over 7 days. Made a macro with a little ad on it, then pasted it onto the item description while selling.

Selling at the right location is important too. Ever stood around at the mining outpost on Dantooine? It's brimming with people setting off on hunts and quests. I can sell basic weapons there for three times their normal price (I made 40k in one night on Dlt20's and Dh17s alone, then 40k the following night, all from bazaar sales). And you can bet that while you're standing there, someone will send you a tell asking for a laser rifle or a DXR6! Look for similar places on your server, you dont have to stand around spamming all day, and careful selective use of the bazaar can be VERY profitable!

Plus, bearing in mind the recent Publish 8, why not buyan MSE or similar cheap droid fitted with the Merchant Barker Module? (bear in mind you need Advertising IV to use this function)

Okay, that's enough trade secrets for now!

I agree with the bazaar suggestions..

I sell my less-quality items there too. I like to do the final assemblies by hand instead of a factory. Except for the crates of Modified Rep Blasters, of course... silly to waste that schematic.

But one suggestion is to sell on the best, most used bazzar city nearest to your shop. Pretty soon, people will look for your name on the planet map too.

I also make my most cash selling basic, nice-quality starter weapons like DL44 pistols and DLT20a Rifles. Look for the low-level cert weapons and make a pile of them with your second-best materials and help out those people cranking up a new profession.

I took a different approach it seems. I don't even make the lowest level weapons. I just set up some vendors, made tons of every weapon, loaded the vendors, then started advertising like mad (Trade and Galaxay forums, five minute afk macro in coronet (NOT 30 seconds!)). Between custom orders and sales, I make a bout 1mil a day (and spend about the same lolz). The thing that helped the most was that I kind of bought my way into the market. I now have the best of everything ever spawned (or darn near close to). Then I made a bunch of krayt weapons every week for about a month and ran non-stop 5-day auctions (2 at a time with staggered endings) on the forums to get my name out there. Now I have stopped the auctions (mostly) and just have a krayt vendor to increase foot traffic.

PS. It seems to me that this might sound a little cocky... It's not intended to, I'm just not good at posting stuff.

Now that all the new players start in Mos Eisley, you can also fill up the ME bazaar with beginner type weapons (D-18s, DLT20s, DH17 carbines, curved swords, etc.). You probably can't price them too high, but it serves as a great way to get your name out to new players who haven't become loyal shoppers of a different WS yet. If you have a shop on Tatooine (somewhere between Bestine and Anchorhead is probably best) that would help too, because then they wouldn't have to travel too far when they're ready to buy more advanced weapons. Just another idea.

Greets ...

Bazaar .... Mall ...

First and foremost ... you stuff has to be respectable. If you are producing "junk" then pack up.

Next ... Makeall major ranged and melee weapons. You should stock about 35 weapons. You want tohave all the high profile weapons for the customers that do visit your vendor. And they have to be in stock 95% of the time.

But ... you get yourreal start on the bazaar ... if your vendor is close to a major city, your stuff shouldshow up on the bazaar on it's own. Just be competitive ... and make sure youyou harvest *every*best resource that pops up.

I think I am at 120ish weapons per day nowon average:-) But it's been a long road ...
