Hello all. Im not a WS, nor ever have been. I'm a TKM and would like yourthoughts onwhat I would be looking at for a high damage vibro knuckler.
My current VK is sliced for dmg and has 50 MIN 194 MAX. I bought this off the bazaar and therefore have no idea of the quality of component used in its manufacture.
Firstly, what's used to make them?I knowI need a vibro unit, (I have a standard one of those, and am looking for a NS dropped one for the new Razor when it hits).
Are there any other "special" ingredients that can be used, ie, force crystals, ackley bones, etc,(sorry if that sounds really dense, but like I said, I'm no WS)?
If I used the very best of resources available, what kind of dmg can i expect to see before slicing?I ask this as we know slicing is random to say the least, and at least I'll know if I'm not being sold a "duff 'un" from the figures you Master Wep Smiths, (I hope), are gonna quote me.

PS If there are any Wep Smiths on FARSTAR that specialise in VK's and can supply a top draw, (sliced or otherwise), model, I'd be glad of an IG mail with aprice.

Sorry I had to laugh on the FOrce crystals and Acklay bones.
Knucks can be built top of the line with a 147 max on Bloodfin, There are enhanced vibro units that make it possible to hit 167 or 170 sometimes
If it was a 147, with a 33% damage slice that might be the one you're holding
If it was 170, with a 13% damage slice then that might be the one you're holding.
If I had to guess, it was a top of the line, unenhanced one with a really good damage slice, I dont ever think Ive seen 13% damage slices before so the first option is your best bet.

Well, I overheard another player on FarStar state that his VK was 199 max. Gives a pre-slice dmg of around 150. There might well be small differences between servers I guess, so it looks like mine is almost as good as it gets 
I guess I'd best buddy up with another combat type and go hunt NS Elders until I get me that elusive vibro unit drop of the old bag!!! Oh! for the life of a TKM!!!

/r i have made them with a max damage of around 120 on using the basic vibro unit and no enhancements and low experimentation so it is probly posible to go over 150 if all parts are good and using a advanced vibro unit with a damage enhancer but i cant be certain as i havnt been ws very long..

go to LOK and fight nym's body guards and pirates they drop High Powered Vibro motors which are +20 dmg enhancements used in creating VK's so a 147 normal max dmg turns into a 167max dmg before any slicing is done... as long as th WS experimentation goes well.... so get eve a 25% dmg slice on a 167 VK and you get a nice 209 max dmg and that is a 25% slice i have seen worse and i have seen better

vibro motors from Nym loot drops on Lok sometimes drop a string of motors that add 20+ damage to VKs.............I know I was getting around 170 max damage unsliced and unfortunatly they were all sliced for speed (had 6 of them and all of them speed sliced in a row!)

You might want to grab a rifleman friend and go to Dath and find yourself a Nightsister motor. I don't remember the pre-slice stats but after a good damage slice the vk was in the 240' and was 1.7 or 1.8 speed. I seem to remember +56 to max damage but can't remember.

Well, I've now killed well over 100 Pirates/body guards. Not a sausage, 'cept a couple of manky sash's Oh! and a nice D18 pistol with poison dmg on it :-)
So I started on the Corsec's just for the hell of it, and there was a camp not 50m away from the last pirate group I killed. Nothing off all them pirates and then from one lot of Corsecs, TWO twin crystals. I don't know the value of these things. I only know what they are used for. I guess it's a buyers market!
On the subject of the NS, I am to understand that only the Elders drop these rare motors, correct? If so, can I take my non-master rifleman buddy out there and keep her occupied at close quarters while he picks her off from range?? I don't know what kind of dmg or how powerful their strikes are.I am TKM & Master Doctor so I can buff myself and m8 pretty good. Wearing full compo be enough to stand toe-to-toe with a NS Elder? I know they are tough, but I just don't know if they'll bosh me in one fell swoop.
Lastly, on the search for the enhanced motors off the pirates, in desperation, I searched the bazaar for one and all I could find were +15 min/max dmg ones. Looks like all the VK users keep the +20's for their own use ;-(
