How do weaponsmiths go about making money? It is hard as hell to sell Krayt weapons and such. Just curious what is the most lucrative thing to do?

Location made all the difference for me.

When I was on Talus business was very slow.

Once I moved to Corellia, I can hardly keep the vendor stocked.

I highly agree, I just moved my vendor from our player city to outside of CNET and I've already noticed a large increase in business.

I'm not a weaponsmith...but here's my advice anyhow...

-try to keep a well stocked vendor with nice weapons, and don't do custom order (no time), but make sure you arewel known.

one of the WS on Tempest does it this way, and he hold a biweekly ingame auction at a PA for special weapons (imo great marketing)....but this guy is probably one of the best WS in swg (check out www.felkelltd.com)

-do mostly custom order: good money, but you need a reputation for it

-do stuff no one does: eg. specialise in commando weaponry, make your weapons somehow different (eg. scoped pistols by default)

-subcontracting!!!! supply other WS with parts they need....(the WS who makes my commando gear kindly asked me to find someone else to make protons for the rocketlaunchers....as quality wasn't an issue on those and they take a lot of time to make)

When you start out, flood the bazaar with your weapons, a tad more expensive than at your vendor...send each buyer a mail your stuff is cheaper at your place (that's how I got my slicing gear business going)

Yeah, move to the outside of Theed or Coronet and you should get some decent business, thats where I seem to find 90% of vendors i look up. I'm suprised we don't see auctions for houses outside these cities, if you have a house there you could easily sell it off to a crafter who wants to sell their stuff, even a merchant tent for that matter.
