What is up with this??

I was a pistoler last year and now im going back to it on a new character. I have a rifleman that is getting near master and i hunt a lot but my weapon goes down very slow,.. takes me weeks before i need a repair or to switch guns

My blaster, im not master yet,, BH 0-0-4-0, pistoler 2--4-1-3 atm.. this thing is toast in 4-5 hours. granted they are not that expensive to replace but why would i even bother using a krayt tissue in these things the thing doenst even last long enough to even bother.

even if i got a couple good repairs whats that barely a week? or barley a long day hunting, say a nice long holiday,, like cought jan 1 st : ) When i get to master ill be surprised if my blasters last 3 hours,. This to me is a total joke.. My rifleman it would take a long long day to kill a rifle in a day,, and thats for needing the first repair. but now one session can kill my blaster.. there is something wrong here

These are jsut normal blasters.. the thought of paying for a DE-10 or geo-stun even the normal ones would make me cring to even to use for just a few mins,, but i wouldnt even think about pulling out a krayt one.. 1-2 million for a blaster to last 3-4 hours something is wrong here..

Btw im not saying they should last forever,, but i would think decay rates should be more even.. If your a pvp guy, i guess its not a big deal what do they last a few mins?? but us PVE people should be able to get some nice weapons for hunting the critters. What you all think of grinding i call playing.. going off and hunting klikniks for there hide or meat is fun to me. I dont care about getting xp i just want there hide. With decay like this the thought of usning my 125-400 republic is just scary,, btw thats with a power up but not sliced yet,, waiting for them to let you chose a slice : )

let me gues using power ups and just holding some big special button nonstop?

if yes that might be your problem,

power ups increase weapon decay rate aswell as some specials (well maybe even all specials but not as big as Over Charge shots)

Are u using overcharge shot or something? If so, that degrades the weapon faster than any other special.

i did some testing,,,

Over charge was 3 shots per point

health 2 seamed like 3.5 shots i think fractions are at work

Bleed, and torso, are 5 shots

Havent tried the double tap, body 3, or point blank ones yet.

but here is the real kicker.. When taking down the lair using no speicals at all my gun would decay 1 point per about 10k damage,.,. which is nearly the same exact speed as if im banging overcharge to get the same amount of damage oky,, well not exaclty the same speed, as 20k damge was 2 points no speicails, and if i used over charge it was 3 points..The bigdifference is it takes about 1:30 to go it with no specials and 10 seconds if your spaming over charge 2 For one extra point of decay ill use friggin over chargethe lair is dead in about 30 seconds as aposed to 4 mins,., to save what 4 poitns decay yea thats a good trade off If i run i could run 3 missions in the time it takes 2 which depending on the gun im using i could buy 2-3 in the time i saved,, in a buff session thats an extra 100kmade to save you what maybe 100 points on gun decay??

What does this mean?? well basically using over charge to does nothing to reduce your guns damage vs time used cuase with out it it takes you 10 times longer to do the same damage and there for almost the exact same decay..

Im going to try the other pistol speicals as i lvl up and will add to this post, Im going to have every pistol special in the game except the master BH one fast shot, or spray shot, i dont know which is for pistol.. I will have all gun certs though, as im novice commando, master pistoler, bh 0-0-4-0, smuggler 0-0-4-0 i will test and time all decays with every pistol special cuase soo far from just preliminary findings,, this is way way to fast compared to Rifle, heavy weapons, and carbine decay...

The basic point of this post is pistols decay way to fast compared to other weapons, and its not the normal guns i care about its the tissue enhanced ones,. To have to go trhough all the time, trouble and money to purchase a nice gun that in any other prof will last a good amount of time but with pistoler its toast in 1/4 the time.

A fix for this??? possible coding could be added for when tissues are used in guns they add to the over all durrablity of the pistol? Possibly tissue could effect different weapons in different ways for durra.. That way your normal toss away weapons are fine. I have no problem going through1 gun a day well the normal guns, the want more disposible products, i guess that is what has happened. But when you put the time and effort in to a great blaster you should get the same or near same use out of it that say a rifleman would get outta there krayt T-21 or a commmando with a krayt flamer,., cuase as it is right now say your krayt geo-stun aint gonna last but a few hours but my krayt t-21 is gonna last what 24+?? no way is that even..

I noticed the increased decay rate. 3 shots of my pistol and it decayed 1 point... thats kinda alot.

acually no power ups,.,. i havent put one on a gun till just now cuase i havent found a vendor on my server.. but i do use speicals, but who doesnt.. i can use over charge on my t-21 and it dont decay anywhere near as fast as using body shot on my pistol,, and a pistol with out speicals is gonna do what 100-200 damage, it will take all night to do a single lair, soo with my rifle i can take stuff out in 3 shots,, but my balster im supose to spend 5 mins on the same critter just soo my gun doenst decay as fast? which i dont think would help cuase when it comes down to it if your spending an hour killing a lair or 10 mins im pretty sure the decay rate will be the same.

As for power ups,, they DO NOT add to decay unless its a speed power up which makes the weapon fire faster which does add to decay, which is the same as a speed slice,, any pup action, health, mind, damage, aim power-up has zero effect on decay this has been tested...

When running up to master smuggler I went through a dh17 repair a night for three nights. Its entirely possible to burn up a pistol in four days. The poster is obviously a competent hunter. The speed with which a pistol burns up are governed by a few things. Which in the end make sense. The pistol works by fireing fast and heavy that means for every seven shots of a pistol you got one of a rifle. That makes a real difference. Second a pistol uses fewer parts so its less expensive to produce. It takes alot less to make a scatter pistol then a t21 or a laser rifle. So in all fairness the rifle should last alot longer then a pistol its more expensive and harder to make.

Here are my suggestions to the poster.

1. Since your a pistoleer you already near maxed on speed if not so. So the speed of your pistol is not a big issue. Ask for some more condition on your guns.

2. Buy pistols in bulk most weaponsmiths make runs of weapons so look to buy a crate of them.

3. Avoid powerups focus more on slices its cheaper in the long run as compared to powerups.

4. If your hunting klikniks yes a favorite of mine two a million weapons xp a day nothing wrong with that. Stop useing overcharged shot. Infact you may want to look at the profession your have chose. BH is a far better choice. The truth is a llc is far better for hunting. Its a double edged sword at ideal range which is nearer to that of a rifle it does horrendous damage, at point blank its specials can kill a kliknik with a single shot. Plus the gun last nigh forever. I replace one maybe every two to three weeks on my bh. Plus the scatter pistol in my book is the best pistol in the game it just is. Its just a more reliable gun. Get a good scope on it and do not use a ton of specials.

5 overcharge shot blows try to use some better shots. Maybe go for bh pistol four and use torso shot the burn over time will save you some shots. Bleeding shot aswell is a favorite of mine.

6 get the gun scoped. Few things help to burn a gun up more then misses. That scope will not cost you much if your not useing specials, and since you are killing klikniks which lets face it if your doing the blueleaf those buggers are pinned down and can be killed at leisure.

7. The fact is simple if your a chronic grind hunter your going to burn through any gun you have in insane time. Pistols especially more so if your useing the wrong one. Fire on fire resist is a real waste. Save the good ones for pvp use cheap burners for hunting.

I buy tons of pistols, because I can waste a 1000+ Condition Scatter in a single buff session.

trust me, unless its a speed power up they add zero decay to your gun this has been tested a million times...

I stoped using overcharge 2 completely and they still burn through um.. but just sligtly slower.. about 500-600k durra in 3 hours /sigh

i have all the BH speicals.. working on getting smuggler ones now.. Im the true master pistoler.. i can use any pistol special and any gun in the game.. Ok soo not master BH speical but i even have launcher pistol cert what a great gun for pvp E BH speicals with pistoler aim and speed, muhhahaha : )

Still for time spent hunting 3 hours vs 3 hours the difference in decay vs a rifle is GIANT which is my point basically..

What do you all know about point blank shots? I was using them at Ft Tusken and my pistol seemed to be going through decay pretty fast.
