Hi guys,

Lemme say we all appreciate the hard work you guys do keeping us with weapons, in my case hand cannons.

Got a quick question, it's about weapon repair kits. I have VERY random success if I try usinsing one myself, I was curious if you weapon smiths and master weapon smiths have better success, and if I should contract one to take care of this so my good weapons (GEO, DE10) have a little longer lifespan.

Thanks much!

No better chance than anyone else. It has been said the wepaon repair bonus attachments do not work. I have also seen better success from Jedi with FS repair bonus doing better at repairs, but I am sure it is random like slicing.

dang, and that seems like such an easy thing to put in for WS, I would pay a smith to repair/refurbish my trusty sidearms!

try this, get a repair tool with a 99% on it. The better this is, the lesser your chance of braking it. But its still 50/50

Its one of those things nobody is entirely sure about. I for one do think there is a mws bonus to repairing weapons. The only thing is its really a marginal affair. I can say on my non weaponsmith I have more blowup in your hands, but even then thats a real rareity. Like one in fifty attempts my bh will blow something up. While on my weaponsmith it may be one in a hundred. It may be a perception on my part. Considering alot of people still go by the weaponsmith adage, and I being a smuggler. So quite often I end up fixing a gun and sliceing it at the same time.

Another thing I have noticed is that atleast on my mws I tend to have more success bringing guns back from the grave. Such as a gun haveing like one or two points condition. I rarely dare doing that with my bh.

So I would advise you that there may be a slight improvement in there somewhere. Whether it comes from the weaponsmith is anyones guess. If you have a bonefied krayt weapon I would say have a mws fix it. It may be wishful thinking, or there may be a little something to it, but whats the harm.

If your talking standard guns do it yourself. No point paying out the rear end to fix guns when there might not be a bonus.

P.S. My advice is to wait till a gun gets under a hundred condition. Since its almost one hundred percent your going to lose 100 condition anyway. Very important to push this even with krayt weaponry. There is no perfect repair anymore to appease. So pushing the condition on any gun can pay off in the long run. Alot of people go wasteing an entire guns worth of condition repairing their guns at above a quarter. Personally I pushed my krayt pistol down to ten points of condition three times and pulled it back to less 100 condition. That let my pistol last through a fourth day of smuggler grinding and I still got it.

Well, as TH stated in this post, Weaponsmith's do have a bonus to repairing, but I can't say that I've had any better luck than my non-Weaponsmith character at repairing.

I would not use your advice for using weapons till they get down to 100, if it drops under 25% you start losing dmg and when you repair it does not come back.

Never had that problem. My gun is the same stats as the day I made it. Perhaps you are confuseing armor with weapons. I have yet to do this and notice a weaponstats haveing gone down not once. I always repair the weapons I sell free of charge, and my customers follow my advice yet to see a single point of damage lost.
