I seemed to have missed something in the last patch apparently. I have my main on Chilastra and I recently started a toon on Bloodfin. When shopping for weapons on Bloodfin the other day, I noticed a ton of weapons labelled "pre-nerf", and they were slightly better (not much) than normal unlabeled ones. Particularly this was evident with FWG-5s. Now on Chilastra, I have seen none of this but have not really been looking.

Did something change in the WC that I missed? Is it and exploit that can't be used anymore? Or is it just that their resources shifted and they are calling these weapons "pre-nerf" because they use the previously available good resources?

Something called a "blaster power handler" was removed from the schematic of a few different weapons, most notably the FWG5. As a result those weapons are around 30 - 40 dmg lower than "pre-nerf" fwg5's.

If it makes you feel any better, I have yet to run into a single player in game that is not a weaponsmith that was aware of the change. Granted those who pay attention to the boards did, but not everyone reads the boards. In fact from this experience alone I think only 5% of players participate on the boards. I still get requests for custom krayted weapons - which I mention that these guns have been nerfed ....

Im one of the older weaponsmith on chilastra and have been selling pre-nerf on my vendor (altho not labled as such) for 50k each and theyve been selling like hot cakes. Only 1 complainer and it was someone who knows all about weaponsmithing because his drag-queen character is a master tailor on another server and knows all about how us crafters are gouging. She felt I should charge 18k so she could auction them off for 100k on the forums and make all the profit for my hard work.... oh i seemed to have gone off on a tangent... Yea the pistoleer forum was flooded w/ nerf info for 3 weeks prior to the patch.

That's what I get for chasing my holos and doing musician for the past century. Of course, now that you mention the power handler I recall something about it in the notes. I also recall the devs said it would not make much difference and make crafting easier if my memory serves.

you hear about Spanked on our server? he couldnt get ahold of any holo's so he was just mastering every elite profession one by one.. the other day his best friend GAVE him a holocron and it was already silent... so now hes working on finishing all the starter professions.
