Doesn't deteriation really off set the price of such a weapon?

I dont think adding 30 damge to a weapon that already has such high damage will be that big a deal...

depends on the specific tissues. you can get some nice rifles with higher-up tissues (70 damage upwards)

Well thats true...any weapon made with +70 tissues would be alot better (except Commando weapons of course)... but the cost of getting such tissues would far outway the usefulness...

I used some krayt with a decent speed bonus to get a laser rifle that's around 2.5 after speed slice and powerup. Damage slice would have been nice, but it's great being able to shoot rifle specials at a decent rate.

I bought a set of 7 tissues and used 4 others I had in the bank - one had a crap damage slice, one had a crap speed slice, and the third had 30+% speed. Non-weaponsmiths would be better off getting a regular laser with a 30+% slice instead of spending a million on tissues and only getting one decent gun out of it.
