Thread: Question about VLs and LVAs

Hi guys i'm not a weaponsmith but i like reading your guys forums because you always seem very helpful. I was just wondering what goes into VLs and LVAs so I could look for something to help out my weaponsmith if need be. If this question is answered somewhere else please point me towards it. Thank you very much for your time

If you want a good LVA or VL, my recomendation is to become a swordsman for a few months and then go kill Night Sisters until you can't stand it anymore. In general, you'll do better looting their pikes than what we can manufacture. If however you don't wanna go that route, pick up some high powered vibromotors on Lok and take them to your favorite WS.

i guess i will cover all the responses. #1 i already did go through that phase of wanting to do WS,but after AS i didnt want to put the time into it lol. 2nd i would hunt the NS for the pikes with swords but i did swords on another server and i'm trying something new before i quit. #3 thank you for the suggestion about the motors on lok. anywhere in paticular i should head?

Yah, hang out at Nym's stronghold and kill all the Nym NPC's. High powered vibro motors are what you're looking for, delete any other types you find. +20 max damage is the base motor, but occasionally you'll find better. You'll need4 identical motors for you LVA and 3 identical motors for your VL. Good luck. Oh, and btw, if you loot at Nym's stronghold, don't expect any xp.

An alternative to taking Swordsman and hunting Nightsisters is taking Rifleman + another melee profession.
I use Rifleman on anything that isn't 100% to energy and Pikeman for the rest. I do avoid Elder's all together though, as the reward isn't worth the hassle in most cases. Sure, you might just get that OMGUBER Long Vibro Axe with +24 Terrain Negotiation, +25 Block and 900 max damage like I did, but most of the time you'll just get some credits and a satchel. I go for volume, which means Rangers, Sentinels, Spell Weavers, etc.
