I did this quest in the Myyydril Caverns about a month ago and was so disappointed Ya build five lame knifes for a 6k quest reward....yawn.

But the other day I crafted one for a friends "weapons display" and was amazed at the stats. My pre Pub19Knife stats were like 30 damage. But my recent stats were like 700 max damage and around SAC 88. Pretty damn good for a knife that has no requirements and is a CL40 weapon. And not too many melee weapons offer a SAC that low.

Anyone else notice this?

Once you complete the quest you are given a permanent schematic. The knives still require three Nak'tra crystals along with some other things. For a while I was the only WS on the server who was selling these. Now one of my guildies has started making them so my business was immediately cut in half. It is a very good weapon though.

This quest appears to be bugged ATM, anyone able to collect the crystals to make this in the last few days/week?

I tried a couple of times yesterday on Eclipse, and even tested a couple of other instances, none of them would allow me to collect the crystals.

I have the option to "USE" when I target a crystal, but nothing comes of it.

I used the crystals looted from the bugs. The quest you make the knives from crystals only. But mix the crystals with some Geonosian Cores and you have very respectable 1H weapon (If melee was worth a darn).

The crystal formations are for part of a quest. The crystals that are used in the knives are loot from the bugs.

Mine still hasnt updated to the new schematic even thou (or perhaps because) I finished the quest the day ROTW was released.

Anyon eelse have this problem or am I all alone?

THe knife is not really usefull, but it bothers me not to be able to make every weapon possible
