Thread: Questions on having a FW FWG5 crafted.

I've been playing this game since Beta 3 and have never owned a really good pistol. As a result, I've decided to try and get an uber FW FWG5 made. I know I could just buy one of these but I enjoy hunting for the Gorax Shards. I realize that the new reinforced casings are better than the Gorax Shards due to the SAC enhancement but I'm not a BH so I'm sticking to Gorax Shards. I've read the information stickied above in this forum and the good information provided in the Pistoleer forum, however, I have a few questions that I'm not sure on and would appreciate your assistance. If I missed an answer in one of the many guides or faqs I apologize!

1)I've looted a set of 5 Gorax Shards with 130 damage and -0.56 speed. I understand I need some in the 170-180 range to hit the damage cap. However, how good of a FW FWG5 could these create assuming I still want the SAC capped if possible?

2)I've noticed some FW FWG5s for auction have high accuracy mods and others don't. I believe the mods (besides the 15 automatically included) come from scopes. Where do the scopes get looted from? Are there any negatives to using the scopes?

3)How do you figure out what to charge for the gun if I provide the Gorax Shards?

Thanks!

first of all, i would never use shards unless i was making a czerka. its a complete waste, youll end up with a half-arsed gun. secondly, when deciding on how much to pay a ws to make a weapon if you are suppliing parts (i rarely ever do this) remember, all u are suppling is some loot, nothing more, it takes the ws to make that loot usefull to you... ive been noticing this happining more and more and its frustrating because u get somone that looted some decent components and want the gun made for basicly nothing, therefore cutting into all of the ws proffits. just remember he didnt grind out ws, buy a +25 suit, and collect the best resources he could find to make you a gun and make no proffit.

The weapon made with the 130 max damage gorax shards will still make good FWG5's.. I imagine it will be around 900 max damage. crafted scopes will add a little extra speed unless they are the new BH scopes. As far as cost that is dependent apon your local server weaponsmith, some will charge you only for the cost of a normal FWG5 provided you supply the loot while others will want 100k+.. Some people will ask for maybe 1 of the gorax shards and use the other 4 to make you 4 weapons.

If you can still try and get ahold of the new BH loot.. they make it easy to cap out SAC and get really nice damage and speed.

I truly appreciate the feedback guys, thanks! I know the BH loot is better but I'm really looking at this as my own little quest. However, I do have a friend that is a Master BH and there is a chance he might loot one of the good reinforced casings. As far as not wanting a Weaponsmith to make a profit, that simply isn't what I'm looking to do. I was just curious on how you guys work this out. Keep in mind I've never had a custom weapon made before . As far as the scopes go do they reduce speed, increase accuracy or both? I'm just curious how you get the high accuracy bonuses and if there is a negative in doing that. Once again, thanks for your help!
