Thread: Advice needed on crafting the best possible weapon using looted enhancements.
I'm looking to have a Trando Rifle crafted and, of course, want it to be an improvement on the one I currently have...
This is my current one, after slicing(4% speed, 4% damage):
Speed: 2.44
Damage: 504-1170
SAC: 83
Acc Bonus: 17
After a couple calculations this leads me to the original weapon(pre-slice), whose stats were:
Speed: 2.54
Damage: 485-1125
SAC: 83
Acc Bonus: 17
..................................
Now... Obviously I want the the SAC capped, damage as close to the cap as possible, and the rest into speed.
The damage cap for the rifle is 1183, SAC 82, and Speed 2.17(confirmed??)
To cap damage through slicing, the weapons max damage needs to be 1095/1096(does slicing round up or down?)
After every thing's said and done, I'm looking for a Trando Rifle that has a Max Damage of 1095/1096, SAC 82, and everything else devoted to speed(which should be the biggest difference between the two rifles, besides accuracy).
These are the best loot components I have:
Enhanced Power Cells x4:
Max Damage: 184
Speed: -0.79
Attack Cost: -8
Adv Weapon Scope x10
Attack Speed: -0.75
Wound: 9
Accuracy Bonus: 63
Adv Weapon Stock x10 (I do have 28max dmg ones, but at -.73/-.64 spd and less wound)
Min Damage: 28
Max Damage: 25
Attack Speed: -0.79
Wound: 11
Questions that I have:
Will the components I have yield the weapon I'm looking for(the original EPCs were around 170dmg and slower speed)? I have read that stocks hurt SAC. Will the speed gained by using them counteract the negatives or should I still go for crafted ones?
Thank you for any advice and/or constructive criticism.

First of all. Slicing is calculated form the min dam, not the max dam.
Trando Rifles on my server usually comes our with a min dam aroun 495 (depending on the barrel) meaning you will need to hit around 1155 on your rifle to get to slicing cap.
Your Cells should be good enough to do this, depending on the barrel nd resources.
I wouldnt recommend using the stocks when you want capped sac, as looted stocks have no sac reduction, menaing it will probably be quite hard for you to cap sac with them. You could however damage cap or come very close to damage cap without slicing, but you would then be looking at a sac in the 90th
The scopes are very nice. Keep in mind that when using them the weapon will come out with blast damge, but this will correct itself in a couple of hours, so dont worry about it ![]()
Thank you for the input.

I am curious about those scopes and stocks, I made a heavy lightning rifle for my BH today and it only hits for 24 damage (using advanced critical) had a jedi destroy me when hunting him and could not figure it out, max damage on this thing was 960 un-pup'd. Was it the stocks or the scopes i used, cause i am new to ws and dont wanna ruin any of my good power cells for it to turn out with only 24 dmg.
Intresting point. You have any idea if the jedi in question was a MD or what trees in defender he had? It seems to me, though I could be wrong, that his defenses just took care of the damadge. if you had a master defender, with defense clothes, as well as sp spent in the defence trees for FS skills, jedi in question might be able to mitigate the damadge pretty well. Are you saying that your weapon did 24 damadge AND was mitigated by the defensees? or are you saying that it did 960damadge but was mitigated down to 24 points?
Like : Rageing thunder usses Advanced Criticle shot on Jedi #3 for 649points of damadge doing 24 points of damadge?

He could also have been wearing a psg.
What damage type did the HLR state it had when you used it? If it was blast you need to wait for it to turn Energy again which it will a bit after crafting it (stretching from 1 hour to when you next log in in my experience)
Every weapon Ive made with scopes have turned into the rigth damage shortly after crafting them
Don't use the stocks, find a ws on your server to make you a -25 sac stock with around 1.2 spd, unless they have some pre-CU 0.0 spd -20 SAC stocks. The +30 ish min and max damage can be made up in 2 exp points, but sac would take about 8 to make up the 20 - 25 in sac reduction. The -.79 spd only translates to about -0.2 on the actual gun anyway so my advice would be to go with crafted stocks or pre-CU stocks to get you closer to what you want. Then you can get a speed slice for it.
