Thread: Remove Weapon Caps! :D

I understand the game we play now is completely different from the game I started to play more than a year ago. I understand that as a growing community of people, more ideas are passed around and the one that draws more people gets the win. The problem I have with 1 decision is yes, you draw people in, but this 1 decision severely limits ourwill to continue playing. This problem is how easy it is for a brand new player to be at the same level as a person who has spent months perfecting their character. The weapon caps are a joke. They laugh in the face of all our "elite/vet players". Now that SAC and Damage can be capped with these new BH component enhancements, people who have played the game less than 1 month have as great of weapons as a person who has been collecting for a year +... and everyone else who is playing.


I don't think that elite weapons (mastery level weapons) should have a cap. I think the NPC's that drop these awesome components should be much harder and I also think they should be made available to everyone... not just BH's. I've continued playing this game because of my weaponsmith. I love making weapons and will continue to do so; however, I have lost interest in the combat game because of this lack of depth. The intricacy and excitement of the combat game has dulled. When you loot a weapon there is no more OOOO!!! THAT'S A REALLY GOOD ONE! or, man!, I hope I get a really good speed or damage slice for this one!!! because all the weapons that drop will cap the same, and all the slices that we get are guaranteed unless they hit the cap then the slicesare just wasted.


I know that this seems like another "flame the CU post" but I don't mean it that way. I like the fact that they made some things unsoloable (like Necrosis) but I wish they would have left some of the depth in. I am hoping this new expansion coming out in November re-adds some of the goody's that were taken out with the CU.

Make a melee char, you wont even hit the cap. Thanks.

With great melee enhancementsu can hit the melee caps. If you couldn't hit the melee weap caps, how would we know what they were? and without the caps, what would the damage potentials of both melee and ranged weapons be? Mymain is a Jedi.. was pike/swprds... but why would I want to make a melee toon just to try to hit the cap when I could make the weapon with my weaponsmith?

By experimenting either all in damage or all in SAC till they hit the cap.

Ranged damage potential would be lightyears higher.
