I ran into someone tonite with a slugthrower. She told me how powerful it was, then was very sketchy on how it got that powerful. so i figured I would ask here to see if its possible. heres what i was told...
749 max damage with a powerup. didnt say what kind, but i assume 33%.
Was originally made with a +85 krayt tissue. no idea how many are needed. or if its possible.
was told it was made with some yellow cubes. whatever the hell those are.
had a 35% damage slice.
my first thought was it was double sliced. as i didnt even know that schematics dropped for these. i thought you just get one from nym. the person was very sketchy, and I wanted to know if the weapon was even possible.

This sounds like a DXR-6b rifle. Not a 'slugthrower' really, but I believe it is described as such in its desription when you examine it. I'd say this is about as good as one could possibly get, too. With a starting max of around 335 (definitely possible, I'd say) and +85 krayt tissues with a perfect slice as you say and a 33% power-up, that max damage is possible. However, I cannot believe the luck on getting a 35% damage slice on something with such good tissues. Either it was extremely goodluck or that person had tons of krayt tissues that were put into poorly sliced ones as well. Don't expect to see any more floating around like this one.
EDIT: The cubes she was talking about can be found in the Geonosian Dungeon. The yellow ones increase damage when used in weapons. The schematics drop there as well. The Nym thing you're likely thinking of is Nym's Slugthrower Carbine. It's the Carbineers' Acid damage weapon and can be obtained through completing the Nym themepark.

you serious ones I bought non-tissued were bout 355.
so with +85 tissues that's 440
working backwards 746 with a +32% pwp is a 565 max damage and (565-440)/440= approx 28-29% not unheard of
and some pwp's are closer to 33% on tarq so one of those makes it closer to a 27% slice

He said it was a 35% slice, so working backwards from that, you get a max damage of about 335 on the original weapon. If you have 355 maxs on your server, fine. I'm just saying what this particular weapon was. So with one of your 355s, you'd end up with a 790 max damage weapon. Good luck on getting the tissues and 35% slice though

It was a very poor decision on the Smiths part to use yellow cubes. Let's see, about 10 more damage versus about 250 more points ofcondition on a weapon that has very low condition at combine.

well i can tell you now its not a slugthrower being that slugthrowers are a mission reward item and cant be crafted. So either its a DXR-6d rifle (by the way isnt a carbine like the slug is) or its another weapon with krayt tissues in which could not use geo cubes. So my guess is the person you were talking to has no clue as to what they have let alone how it was made.
