As an MA& WSI feel that harvester certs would be a bad idea.

I think it would have a drastic effect on the price of resources and would hurt the ingame economy. It would surely hurt Architects (which are becoming increasingly harder to find lately)

I find it humorus that the MA's that are for this idea can't even make the Harvesters (mediums & Heavies) that they want to be the only ones to have the cert for.

Unfortunately there is currently little reward for holding the MA skill box.Perhaps Masters should be able to place Mediums or Heavy's on rougher terrain, or get an increase to surveying. But to be the only ones allowed to drop a medium or Heavy harv is extreme.

VERY pissed off.

But then I suppose I could start charging 300cpu on all of my goods instead of 30.

I'd support certs. for harvs, but NOT in MA. MA's have vehicles and that is plenty.

Totally fine with it, in fact I will

This will put a stop to the resource whores who allocate exactly 0 skill points to any artisan profession

I think any Advanced novice crafting profession should get the cert for a heavy - novice AS,WS,ARCH,DE,CHEF,TA, DOC....etc

Combat only avatars should get no ability to place mediums or heavies, personals only. What do they need them for?? Money?? They can run missions for cash.

I mine all of my own stuff, I use MY BH for my houses and factories and keep the 10 lots for harvs on my crafter toon.

Contrary to speculation I do not think this will destroy the market for materials, there is way to much stuff out there as is. People are hoarders and the market will make a drastic change after the anti-hologrind patch 10 goes in, a change for the better.

I don't think I can add anything new to this discussion as everything I had wanted to say has been said in previous messages. This is a bad idea, the economy will take a terrible hit if this happens. You cannot decrease the supply without decreasing the demand and not expect chaos. I am a Master Artisan along with Master Weaponsmith so if this change were to occur it wouldn't affect me much, but this is still a bad idea. I agree with a lot of the alternatives, give the MAs an efficency break. Why not something along the lines of what Merchants get? Give them a break on power and maintanence costs, after all a Master Artisan would know how to tweak his gear to run better.

My only addition is this. I pay for two toons here. I use them both for harvestor placement. One is a MW/MM/MA the other is a warrior class. So I have to ability to use these harvs, even if they implement the certs. If someone is harvesting and isn't even an Artisan, they have to be using someone for the location since they can't survey themselves.
If this happened I will use my non artisan for all structure placement and my crafter for all mining, but it would be a major pain.

Thats a bunch of crap. Artisan's don't have to go through the BS we do collecting the specific resources we need to make things. Artisan just uses whatever is the best they have or can get. It doesn't have to be spefic crap Rodium or Irolunn or Alantium. The artisan's that are complaining they have no money is because they are lazy. Make vehicles and PUPs. Master Artisan in my PA is dropping it now because he has no more use for it. He's filthy rich and doesn't need anymore money. He made all his money off PUPs. The resources he collected over time he will sell and be even more rich. So any Artisan that doesn't have any money is lazy. Plain and simple.
