Thread: Silly question from a potential customer

When crafting weapons, can you aim more for damage than for speed? For example, the best Gaffis I see on Kettemoor are about 280 max damage unsliced, 3.5 speed. Is there a way to make it, hypothetically, 350 max damage, 5.5 speed?

IF this is true, and I'm doubting it is, I'd be interested in experimenting on what the slowest speed I could get while still hitting the 1 second cap, and pumping everything into damage.

So....am I on to something, or am I insane here?

When you experiment that particular tree it increases both Speed and damage. So you can't choose either or..

Hope this helps.

I'm sorry but I do not see ANY way a Gaffi Stick can be made in bulk with 280 max damage unsliced. Mine are 131-222 and I'm using a resource with 1000 SRIron and I come nowhere near 280 max. That's looking way too much like a sliced stick there. My reinforcement cores while not the best are darned good and there is no crafted reinforcement core I've ever heard of that adds an additional 60 damage beyond crafting. Perhaps some uber looted reinforcement core but again, can't make weapons in bulk with those.

No, that was my fault for posting so early in the morning. The gaffi is SLICED, not unsliced. And frankly, I don't think asking a suestion about leaning the creation process towards damage rather than speed (which is obviously not possible) is as bad as "Can you remove a slice on my weapon?" It's more like "Hey, can you experiment with the duration of Muon?".

Anyways, thanks for the answers.

It certainly isn't. Don't misunderstand my post, though. I didn't think your question was all that silly. I meant to imply there is much sillier things to be asked in this game.

on some weapons, you have a *bit* of control over speed versus damage.

Often times if you use an advanced component, the damage will come out much higher, but the speed will be a tad slower.

And, if you use an advanced stocked, you can slow down the weapon, but add a lot to damage (or range) and HAM.

Well, say I was looking for a gaffi or curved swordwith the max damage you can get, slowest speed of say 5.0 or 5.1. There anything that can be done?

I make Gaderiffi Batons that can be sliced up to 300 damage (222 max, and that's with 100% experimentation on damage), as 3.4.

There isn't much room for improvement, I believe I got the advanced reinforcement core to 80% or so on damage.

Trust me, Slicers get equally silly questions. I have a slicer character and a WS character and I get more silly questions as the slicer. Stuff like "Could you slice my weapon for speed AND damage?" or "Could you remove my speed slice and then slice it for damage?" I love that last one, REMOVE the speed slice. Sure thing. I only mention this here, on the WS board, because Slicers and WS's are kindred spirits.

Though my favorite slicer question I recieved in an e-mail was "Can you slice my pants for camoflauge bonuses?"
