I don't really think the novices need help, there should be barriers to entry so we don't have 1,000's of smiths running around cutting each other's throuts (like we already do?) but I had this idea pop into my head and I just had to share.

Negative experimentation

When you are a novice you get -10 experimentation points and as you progress up the ladder you lose these negative points and gain your positive points until you get to your +10.

During experimentation you would use your negative experimentation points to lower an attribute of what you are making which would also add another positive experimetation point to your pool.

Anovice weaponsmith would be able to make weapon components at 100% by negatively experimenting on condition; this is good as novices could make quality components for a master while grinding and it would be more of an apprentice master relationship than we have now.

Now if the novice wanted to make his own guns the same would apply; they could get 100% damage/speed experimentation like a master but would have to sacrifice another stat (condition).

These quality low condition weapons(100/100) would be ideal for novice marksmen and brawlers as they are just grinding too and will not need these weapons long, also these weapons will not sit around in economy allowing 100s of novice combat charachter to use the same guns over and over, it will create demand for these entry level weapons and allow them to be crafted and sold at an entry level price.

Good idea?
