I was curious as to what other professions other WS had, and also, why you like it. I am currently a MWS/MCH and am planning on dropping CH and am looking for something to compliment MWS with. Just curious what other combinations people are having fun with so I can get some more ideas for myself. Thanks in advance for any help, it is greatly appreciated.

Well, you can get Master Artisan, which will allow you to make your own Master Artisan components (which are required on a few weapons). You can get Smuggler so you can slice your own weapons. Or you can get some merchant to help sell your weapons. Those are probably the big three that compliment Weaponsmith most directly. Alternatively, you can pick up a different master combat profession so you can get some of your own weaponsmith loot, or just to have fun with. For the record, I'm a MWS/Master Smuggler.

You can get TKM if you want the best of both worlds...crafting and combat. That's what I was until I bought my second account. Then I dropped TKM and picked up Master Smuggler along with hiring I in merchant and artisan 4 0 4 3. That way I can have decent survey skills as well. A very self sufficient WS may I add? I am good enough in combat to clear away lesser mobs from my harvesters, I can make good weapons and slice them, survey for my own resources, and operate 3 NPCvendors. This is what I did at least.

Thanks for the help. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually. Either way, it will be fun.

As of right now I am leaning towards doing something with Smuggler. It does make some sense. With the upcoming changes to Merchant, how much I can do in smuggler is unknown. Thanks for all the help!!!

If you're taking Smuggler for the slicing, then you might as well go for Master because they get the best slices (up to 35% for weapons). Not much point in only getting Slicing IV.

Ahhh...that just answered a question I had planned to post on the Smuggler forum. Thanks for that info.
So basically, being a MWS and Master Smuggler isn't really possible (once the merchant changes go through)? Well, to be effective anyway. I've lowered my artisan as low as I can, have Master Smuggler, MWS, and 14 extra skill points. that is one box on the merchant tree. If the change to merchant goes through I'd be dropping smuggler to be able to sell my wares. I'll have to play around with the template builder some to see if I can find a good balance. Thanks again for the help!!

MWS/0400Smuggler(the slicing column whichever one it is/0142TK(working on master)
i used to be MWS/MDoc but really didn't want 2 crafting profs and found i wasn't online enough for any guildies to benefit from me being doc (my alt is pure combat and makes all my money).
now i can slice my weps and have set up a house for guildies to drop off weps and armor for slicing. not to mention i can slice terminals to get higher payout on missions.
i am not a WS for profit though in case you hadn't guessed so your template would prolly depend on your personal motives.

You can be master weaponsmith, master smuggler and merchant magagement IV, only problem is that you can only have survey level one. If you can get a friend to help yo with surveying...or get survey skill tapes, then you're all set.

I am currently a MWS, master smuggler and novice merchant with 4044 artisan (for survey 4). With the new merchant rules I can still operate 3 vendors and stock 750 items. Seeing as all 750 are sliced that is enough for me! Are alot of smiths finding that 750 is not enough? Even if it is not I can drop survey 4 and get a box of merchant to allow for one more vendor and more items.

I'm a ws/smug combo. If you're looking to get more fun out of weaponsmithing, i suggest another prof, combat related. Don't pick smuggler. It pains me to say it, but smuggler is a unfinished, broken, and ignored class, and pretty much has been since release.
