Thread: Weapon Damage per round

After some experiments I thought the following info would be helpful in creating weapons.

The damage that someone will do per shot is based on the follwing formula +/- 10 or so points of damage for the basic attack using the /attack command. This of course would be further modified by the special used.

((weapon min damage + weapon max damage) / 2) + (accuracy mod - defense mod)

If it's PvP
(((weapon min damage + weapon max damage) / 2)* .7) + ((accuracy mod - defense mod)*.7)

Haven't tested elemental damage in there.

What this means is those 1200 power hammers, noone will ever see 1200 damage using the basic attack but it means that any enhancements to just max damage will only raise the damage done per shot by 50% of what the max damage was raised.

For example I can make 391-798 2.09 DL44XT's. This means that the weapon will do about 595 per shot. If I were to add for example a +50 krayt tissue the new damage per shot is 620, only a 25 point increase.

Interesting post... helps explain my disappointment as of late in seeing average tissues give marginal bonuses and excellent tissues only yielding slightly better results. To wit, as a test I made an Alliance Needler with a +30 gorax APFM, then made a second such carbine with practically identical experimentation and components (minus gorax shards of course). End result? The gorax Alliance Needler'sBDPSwas--get this--an amazing 5 points higher! WOOT! Add in a "You have successfully increased this weapon's damage range by 0%!" and you got one damn fine weapon .
