O.K.

I know that resources are very important in making weapons.........

but....

How come I can make a weapon with an equal speed, HIGHER damage, and LESS DPS than some of the other WS on my server? I don't get this one bit. Does wound % have anything to do with it? (Side question: How should I experiment on my advanced weapon scopes? EXP any on wound?)

On top of having a lower DPS, I've used all of my exp points into damage (watching for damage to cap out) and I STILL have an action cost which is anywhere from 12-20 points higher than the next guy.

what am i doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help!

well on the action cost, you're probably using components crafted post-CU. The components crafted pre-CU all have very close to max damage, max speed, and minimal action cost. So the BPH have around -6 action cost. Compared to +4 after CU. same with the barrels, etc. so that explains that much.

The DPS is just (min+max) / 2 / speed. So if you say you get more damage, same speed, less DPS..... I don't know what's going on. btw, I've found so far that I get the highest DPS by maxing out speed on the components, then damage on the weapons itself.

Does the weapon do elemental damage?

The formula is a little different if you are making a weapon with elemental damage. I think it is something like [ (min+max)/2 + elemD ] / speed.

Not sure about other causes. Can you posts stats?
