i couldnt help to notice that some WS, couldnt tell the what to price their wpns bc of the fact that one couldnt see the potential of their sellable wpns.

so my question to the WS is:

how does one price their wpns if you cant tell the what the true spd/dps is? i can understand the that in the right hands it can do some nice damage but....do some of the WS use a type of calculation? or other type of info to base their price of their wpns?

i have a WS on infinity(+12)& im wondering on this bc i dont want to over-price or under-price my wpns, not to sound wrong or anything. just would appreciate some advice and other info on this.

thanks to all

Im pricing my weapons in responds to 3 factors. Resource prices, general server prices for equal weapons and if enhanced the cost of the enhancers if I had sold them on the trade forum, to thi sI add a small profit and voila.

Every couple of week I go through my vendors and lower the prices on stuff that hasnt sold.

((.25 x # of general resources used) + (.5 x # of named resources used)) x DPS

I know dps doesn't mean a whole lot but it was a good variable to use

After reading a post where the correspondant said he prices based on CL*1000, i've been doing that myself. I don't price based on resources, time, factory costs etc because I simply don't have enough weapons rolling off the vendor to warrant making such small profit from them.

Here is my current pricing scheme

Normal Weapon crafted with current components with no enhancements/loot

CL*1000 (54000 for CL54 weapon)

Weapon crafted with more than one amazing success using pre-CU components

(CL*1000)+(CL*1000)/2 (81000 for CL54 weapon)

Using less rare enhanced components like geo loot or BPH enhancers/Feed Mech enhancers

Generally the same as the formula listed above unless i get a few amazing successes and it turns out very nice, then its more like (CL*1000)*2 (108000 for CL54 weapon)

Obviously the rare components like gorax/acklay/krayt go for substantially more based on the quality of the loot.

Personally, I've seen more sales using this mechanims lately than i ever did before. I believe its because people tend to do searches based on filters and when they're looking for a good weapon, chances are they aren't focusing on the lower priced stuff since there is so much of it to wade through.

Good luck!

So tell me this.... Do you charge less for the regluar flamethrower even though it takes the same resources and parts as a plasma? What about a regular scatter vs. high capacity?

I actually price them based on CL with modifiers for special components.

I find I sell fairly well that way for 2 reasons. The lower level character with less money will be able to afford the weapons he can use and by the time someone can use a CL 54 weapon, they can afford the higher price.

My prices are by no means high. I've found that I've even had to considerably lower my prices on the shard and tissue enhanced weapons and they still don't sell much. I don't know if that's caused by ROtW quest rewards or ADKs, but there is definitely a slow down on these weapons.

One more note... I get a lot of return customers. Not sure if it's the prices or the fact that since day one post CUI've always done what I can to keep SAC low. I'm guessing it's the latter though. A lot of people still look for that max damage, but most of the feedback I've gotten is that once they play with a couple different weapons they prefer the lower SAC over the max damage.

PS- Xriot, what server are you on? I use a400 multiple, rounding up to the nearest thousand to determine my prices. I think if I went to 1k, I'm pretty sure my sales would drop.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

I pick a number out of thin air and people pay it. The size of the number does not seem to matter... There seems to be a lot of loose cash floating around right now.
