Thread: Master WS/Master Artisan working on FS crafting...I need some information

I am working on the four FS crafting columns...and with no freebees I need to grind them all.

So my question is this...

What WS items give better than 2 for 1 xp?

I spoke with a friend who is a chef and he tells me that they have combines that give 4 for 1.

And as I just found out, swoops and such give 1 for 10 (that's 1 xp for every 10 resources you use)

What do we WSs or the Artisans have that do better?

Up till now, I've done Projectile Rifle Barrels (94 xp for 46 resources when practiced) but at the rate I can sustain the grind, it will take me 3 weeks at 4 hours a night of non-stop grinding to make 1 column...Unacceptible

Help me out PLEASE!

heavy warhead mechanisms are the best item to grind for WS. They give around 147 xp in practice mode but they require some rare resources.

As far as I know, all WS items give 2 xp (or 2.1 xp in practice mode). The WS component that gives the most XP at a time is the Heavy Warhead Mechanism, at 777 WS xp in practice mode. To complete one branch of FS crafting you need 1,225,000 FS crafting xp. At the 5 to 1 conversion rate, you'll need 6,125,000 WS xp. Divided by 777 WS xp, that's 7,882.8 warheads (round up to 7,883). The resource requirements are:

Metal (7,883 x 180) = 1,418,940

Thoranium Steel (7,883 x 40) = 315,320

Skevon Reactive Gas (7,883 x 80) = 630,640

Radioactive (7,883 x 50) = 394, 150

Polymer (7,883 x 10) = 78,883

Hydron-3 Inert Gas (7,883 x 10) = 78,883

Total = 2,916,710

Again, please note that this is just for one branch (and there's a total of four branches for FS crafting), and it doesn't count the 50,000 FS crafting xp you need to get the FS crafting 'novice' box.

Hope this information is helpful.

Skevon Reactive Gas and Hydron-3 Inert Gas can be hard to come by in even modest quantities. How is someone supposed to get 2,522,560 units of Skevon Reactive Gas required for FS crafting mastery? If you had 4 medium gas extractors (BER10) mining Skevon Reactive Gas continuously for 52 days you would only have enough gas for ONE person to master force sensitive crafting. With resources shifting all the time... that is just not going to happen. Even if you had the resources, just think of all the double clicking...

I am firmly convinced that the FS crafting experience values were set by someone who did not do the math. It is virtually impossible for anyone who did not get free unlocks to complete the FS crafting tree. The current XP values make it a mathematical improbability at best.

It's not impossible, just really time consuming and expensive. Though I agree that it will be difficult to find another 600+K of Skevon for the next crafting branch. I'm hoping it will spawn again before the next phase, then I'll drop 8 13 BER harvs on it. That should give enough for at least one more crafting branch, maybe more.

When you convert crafting xp, it converts specifically to Force Sensitive Crafting xp. I take it to mean this is separate and distinct from FS combat xp. Even with weapon/combat xp it can take a long time to get through six branches.

Crafting xp converts to Crafting FS..Combat/Weapons converts to either Reflexes or Combat FS and it converts at a ratio of 1 to 30

it will take a long time no matter what tree you go up.

Does anyone else think crafters got shafted with this system? It took me 3 days to grind novice, and then i decided id take a break and work some of the combat prowess, i got novice and the next box in a couple of hours. How is this balanced?

Thanks for the info on the Heavy Warheads..not gonna happen like that for me though

Just to let you know...Crafting XP does convert to crafting FS XPONLY and same with combat XP to combat FS XP.

As far as crafters getting the shaft...ABSOLUTELY.

Look at it this way.

As a combatant, you get mission cash...or at least cash from looting corpses. You are playing the game...out in the wilds

As a medic, you get cash from healing other players or, especially, buffing. You are playing the game...in the cities or in the field.

As a crafter, you grind out millions and millions of resources worth of heavy warheads, or projectile rifle barrels, or speeders or what ever...where is our income?RESOURCES COST MONEY! either harvesting or buying resources costs money...and are you actually creating these items or practicing. It is one giant cash sink!

Let's say I do my regular day to day business as a Weaponsmith and NOT GRIND this, because the devs say grinding is bad. Now I have been a Weaponsmith for nearly 12 months. When I entered the village, I was about half way to the XP cap. (60,000 +-) This is becuase most of what I made was schematic run through a factory. No xp there.

So by this number I qould cap at 120000 in 24 months...5 - 1 conversion....so 24000 FS crafting xp in 2 years..ok...that means I will have the first novice box in approximately 4 years.

From there I can be assured that I will make Jedi (because I will have finished the 2 combat trees I will need in addition in about a week) in about 82 months +or-.

WOO HOO Jedi initiate in only 6.8 years!!!!

God you devs are brilliant in the content you have provided me to keep me busy until 2011!!!!

/sarcasm off

/sigh

If yo want an easier grind then get DE and get droid blueprints II. It gives 460ish XP and need 150 steel and 70 fiberplast. Need a total of like 2 mil steel and 1 mil fiberplast. It is a big grind but I think it is worth it.
