As we're all incredibly rich (JUST JOKING!!!) let's have a flutter. The runners are purely conjecture, I have no inside information, just a bit of light-hearted fun. Please don't take anything personally.
Let's open the book, feel free to add other runners as you see fit....
Ecnirp 4/1 Looksuseful, carrying a bit of extra weight
Summerflame 1/2 Odds-on favourite, carries herself nicely, not flustered by the big occasion
Shug 20/1 Tendency to sweat-up in the paddock, a stormy ride but capable of incredible bursts of speed
Stettin 10/1 Has potential, as yet untested for stamina
Muzz 50/1 Shot in the paddock
Hurlobacca 16/1 Wookiee hair tends to get in the eyes sometimes, needs blinkers

Not that I'm interested, I'd hardly say I'm not tested for stamina. I've been a regular poster on the forums here for almost 2 years, and my website has been live for over a year.
Also SOE doesn't run a popularity contest when picking a Cor.. I don't think anyone knows what their criteria is.

the criteria's pretty clear on the vacancy post. It's partly about knowing the profession inside out... but it's also about being able to collate and communicate information effectively. The second part needs no prior knowledge of 'smithing to do effectively. So I guess they look for a balance between the 2.
